Depression kills. Many people think they understand what it means but they don't.
Depression is not having a rough life and feeling sad because of it. Depression of when you can live in utopia and still fell cold and empty inside. It is an injury or presence that never goes away and can never be cured, only managed or mitigated.
I just wanted to say this because I struggle with depression and I can understand the desire to check out early as it were. It's not my path but it's also not my place to judge the paths of others.
I didn't see all his movies but I adored him, I found his sense of humor very relevant. RIP you crazy goof ball. CSM 9 Candidate Philanthropist Polymath Savant Hero |

Thank you for being strong/brave enough to be open enough about it that others might get a glimpse.

all I can think of, he was an even greater actor then I thought, I mean if he was clinicly depressed, on the screen he always seemed so full of life and joy.
I was browsing wikipedia last night, came to his page there and read he was deceased even before I heared it on the news. I thought it was a joke at first :( |

Many artists struggle with depression. In some cases this darkness can make them better at what they do by means of sublimation.
amanda palmer is a good example of sublimation being used to proportionately enhance artistic ability.
The biggest problem isn't that depression exists but that in many cultures talking about it is seen as faux pas. It's a social norm specifically where I life to not talk about these kinds of problems. Even when you might want to talk about them you will have a hard time finding people to listen.
It's worse when you are famous like Robin because you have to be that much more selective with who you talk to about how you really feel. CSM 9 Candidate Philanthropist Polymath Savant Hero |

What ill miss most are his quips and general whimsy on life. I feel sad at being deprived of his points of view on future political, social, economic and technological changes we will see.
One of his funniest things ive seen was years ago when there was a technical hiccup at some tech show and he entertained the audience by roasting the panel.

I digged out my old Pioneer Laserdisc player from storage along with some, of what I think are precious, cinematic gems like "Good Morning, Vietnam", "Dead Poets Society", "Awakenings", "The Fisher King" and "Good Will Hunting".
RIP Sir. Allow me to be frank. You will not like me. You will not like me now, and you will not like men++ a good deal less as we go on. |

Take comfort in the out pouring of affection from the many whose lives he touched with his work. I've read so many stories of his kind acts over the last few days, so many people letting the world know the sort of man he was I've cried, and laughed, and been sad, and smiled, and started looking at his older work in admiration of his talent, and his generosity in his time and charitable work.
This isn't a very Eve thing to say, but be kind to each other, offer up hugs, and make each other laugh.
Nose' Feliciano wrote:Someone should have introduced Robin to EVE Online. He may still be with us.
Hahaha, could you imagine him with the patience needed to play Eve? I think he would have been to kind hearted to boot. He'd of spent his time in HS, cracking jokes, and generally making sure everyone had a good time.

I'm sure that made Michael Jay Fox feel so much better. The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity. |

At any rate, yes, that had occurred to me. Severe depression often leaves you incapable of empathy, though. The sad thing is, he did "broadcast for reps" it just wasn't enough. Post with someone else's mainGäó. |

No the J is for Jay Leno who helped deliver him when he was born. One of the symptoms of Parkinson's is depression. He was already bi-polar, but he was also depressed about having to do tv and films he didn't want to do, due to financial pressures that the two divorces had put him under. Taking the money out of it for a second, that would be a lot of weight to bear for a normal person, but with bi-polar? After finding all this out, I'm no longer surprised. Incredibly sad at what has happened, but not surprised. |
