Hi,
I've always been a solo player in EVE online, not very active and not so committed. Only casually game once awhile.
Need some advise on flying a solo Legion in Hisec, will appreciate if you gurus out there can help me out.
Lets assume i have all the skills required to fly a legion mastery 5( i'm close anyways :-) ) What kind of fitting will be best suited for solo ratting/missions & possibly c4 missions?
Please spare me the "Proteus will out dps your laser boat or Tengus are the gods now", i just wanna fly a legion to it's best.
Thanks again for helping me out.
*if any corps willing to recruit and guide a casual player like me, i will be happy to be part of your team. i play at GMT +8, 9pm to midnight.
Best regards!

If you cannot even find a fit for a ship to start with you shouldn't fly it at all. How hard can it be to google "eve online pve legion" and try few fits in fitting tool of your choosing? I think you mistook casual for just plain lazy.
Also, tengu is not a god and it never was. And you know where recruitment is, you posted there a year ago. Eve Online Overview Wizard: Forum thread Homepage

Legion in high really doesn't have much of a role. T3s can't enter rated combat sites lower than 5/10 -- and only up to 4/10 spawn natively in high. I guess you could clear anoms and run missions, but again there are much better options out there.
But I guess if you wanted to do omni damage and omni tank you could do this:
[Legion, highseclol] Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Medium Armor Repairer II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor EM Hardener II
10MN Afterburner II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Mjolnir Heavy Assault Missile Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Mjolnir Heavy Assault Missile Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Mjolnir Heavy Assault Missile Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Mjolnir Heavy Assault Missile Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Mjolnir Heavy Assault Missile Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Mjolnir Heavy Assault Missile Sisters Core Probe Launcher, Sisters Core Scanner Probe
Medium Rocket Fuel Cache Partition II Medium Hydraulic Bay Thrusters II
Legion Defensive - Nanobot Injector Legion Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer Legion Engineering - Power Core Multiplier Legion Offensive - Assault Optimization Legion Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
It's kind of a ridiculous fit but... it's kind of a ridiculous use for a Legion.
If you wanted to do the same thing but with lasers, this more or less does it:
[Legion, highseclol lasers] Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Medium Armor Repairer II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor EM Hardener II
10MN Afterburner II Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Heavy Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M Sisters Core Probe Launcher, Sisters Core Scanner Probe
Medium Ancillary Current Router I Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Legion Defensive - Nanobot Injector Legion Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer Legion Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir Legion Offensive - Liquid Crystal Magnifiers Legion Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
Slightly more damage. Pulses could push out more at the expense of range of course. Again, not what I'd do with the ship in the first place but that's a start. |

Searching and fitting was something i did before i write this post, but i am still confused why some people fit their ships differently.
some fits are double repairer, some are with deadspace fits, and almost all are on heavy pulse laser 2.
maybe perhaps its a personal preference players like it that way, or the comparison of ISK to the equipment itself.
I am curious and eventually want to find a fit that makes sense to me.
On the recruitment part, yes you are right. i did post 1 year ago, and this is the wrong section to put in. will remove that part now. |

They all have a purpose (or should). I deadspace/faction fit my Legion for low sec exploration because it gets through sites faster with lower exposure and risk that way. But like I said, the purpose of a high sec Legion is already wanting.

People fit their ships differently because they fit for different purposes, they lack skills for one fit so they compensate, they have no idea what they are doing, for lolz - reasons may vary and fits are situational in most cases. You fit differently when you expect heavy neutage like in missions against Blood Raiders, you fit differently when you want speed tank.
Double reps with native high resists of t3 give you rapid burst tank but is not good for prolonged damage so you need to be able to remove dps from field as fast as you can before you cap out and pop. Which basically means t3 cruiser in L4 mission is more for lolz than actual usability. Warp in proper BS, bounce at range with MJD and blap everything that comes your way - this is how you run L4s in laser boats.
And there's not much other PVE in hisec that could require t3 cruiser. Combat sites can be easily done in regular cruiser/BC, incursions are more about pirate/t2 BS hulls but I guess maybe legion can fit into some fleets, you would have to check that out in incursion related threads and in-game channels.
I can understand you want to fly legion in hisec but I honestly don't see what could you do there with it. Eve Online Overview Wizard: Forum thread Homepage

Before looking for a fit, I'd advise defining a ship's role more precisely.
So far the role of 'x ship in highsec' can be done by a bloody shuttle. - Leopold Caine, Domination Malakim ___________________________ Angels are never far... Stillwater Corporation Recruitment Open - Angel Cartel Bloc |

That's an arrogant way of giving a player advice on their question. If you have an issue with players asking for advice on the EVE forums in the appropriate section of the forums, why even post in here?
OP, when I get a chance later, ill update this post with a fitting I've used that worked well for me. Ignore all the elitist morons on these forums, they think everyone should know everything or always rely on Google for answers. |
