Hello, recently I have gotten into mission running. I have spent countless hours doing lvl 3's and their pretty easy with a decent amount of ISK from bounties and loot. I want to take a step forward into l4's however I'm not sure if i have the right tank or DPS. My question is how much DPS and tank do i need on average to do l4 missions? |

Output: As high as possible Input (tank): 500 to a specific faction is pretty good starting place but will still crack under one too many spawns.
Also it's "they're" you want in that sentence, as in "they are". The Drake is a Lie |

For a very rough starting ballpark figure you'll want tank+dps to be at least 1k combined to do them at a speed where they're better than L3's.
As your skills improve focus more on the dps side of things once you can fit T2 tanking modules (faster you kill the npc's the less you have to tank and quicker the missions are). Eventually you'll end up with way bigger numbers for dps / tank of course. |

I'm sorry for my not perfect language I speak 3 languages and it's hard to master all 3. I don't feel that my question was entirely answered. You said my DPS should be as high as possible, what if my DPS was 50 or 100, wouldn't that be bad? I want to know what's bad and what's OK and what's great. |

A battleship that dedicates 4 modules to tank (2 mission specific tech 2 hardeners, two reppers is a very safe starting point). 35% capacitor means 'make plans to warp out'.
Once you know what you are doing you can go with less. I ran some missions lately to grind standings and was flying an Ishtar with local armor tanking rigs, a deadspace local armor repper and a damage control.
Always fit a microjump drive - you can use these when warp disrupted (not scrambled). Mission rats do not currently scramble. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=346564 - a proposal to overhaul the Logistics skill https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. www.minerbumping.com - ganking miners and causing chaos |

Fit a Microjumpdrive (MJD) to a battleship and just go for it. If lvl3's are easy for you go ahead. Worst case...they're just pixels... Go for it.

Well for a non-native speaker you're doing very well. Just remember the 3 this way: The place is over there. They have their ownership They're two different words.
As for as output DPS I'd say 300 DPS is on the bottom end. It's bare minimum for the most part and will occasionally have issues killing the most tanked ships. If you're in the 700 range you're doing pretty decent. 1000 and higher is ideal. The Drake is a Lie |

The first time I went into a level 4, I went with my level 3 battlecruiser (T2 tank and meta 3 weapons).
I did all the level 4 missions in that battlecruiser, before later trying a battleship. |

the rule of thumb is 500/500/50/5: - 500 dps tanked - 500 dps projected - at least 50km weapon range - at least 5 minutes of capacitor with all modules running

5 min of cap is extreme overkill.
Prop mods (afterburner or MWD) are usually on only 10-30% of the time. Local repair modules might be on half the time. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=346564 - a proposal to overhaul the Logistics skill https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. www.minerbumping.com - ganking miners and causing chaos |

Once you know what you are doing, I agree. However, for a first time level 4 runner, this is a good rule of thumb. As with only 500 dps your run times will be considerably longer and you will obviously not be that good at managing your cap. It's been a while but I used to run level 4's in an omnitanked Deimos without any trouble.
It's not so much about the tank and damage as it is about learning the triggers and patterns. Using a guide and some experience, you can run L4s in an Ishkur if you feel like. They're just not that difficult.
I say this having not run one for a few years, though. Things may have changed but it's my opinion that any focused tanking and damage is solely to maximize efficiency. Not make it possible to do them.
