Edited by: ITTigerClawIK on 18/07/2006 23:53:39 Right i aint usre really were to put this post but i think maybe here may be the place im so sick and tired of haveing some random guy come up to me and advertiseing a site that lets you BUY isk for real money to be honest this trade is extreemly sad and makes it unfair for thoses of us who work hard for people who work hard to earn our ISK i mean alot of us are strugling as it is to pay our monthly subscriptions (wich in my opinion should be reduced a little bit since the volume of players subscribeing has become very high) and then we are then beaten alot by people who can afford all the skills they want and the best eqipment they can use because they are rich enough and sad enough to BUY there own ISK with RL money i rekon that all people who take part in this should be banned or something... this whole concept is cheating the game and is unfair on other players.. i belive that CCP should not allow organisations that do such things to sell ISK on EVE.. EVE is such an amazing game in itsself why should it this be allowed to spoil it all by giveing people unfair advantages i beg CCP to do summit about this i know it wont stop compleatly but it would at least be something.
PLEASE SIGHN THIS PATITION)

No, I don't.
Okay, let's take the War on Doctprs. Do you think that jailing doctors for "over-prescribing" (actually as recomended by ethics boards) pain drugs to legitimate patients reduces illegal drug abuse?

Edited by: SlyPanther on 19/07/2006 02:41:31 If CCP catch an ISK buyer, they do ban them, same as macro miners. So this already happens but I think with ISK buyers or ship/component buyers say from ebay, it's harder to track down.
Here's an example, I was looking for a cover for a motorcycle (gearbox cover) and low and behold, in the search up pops a Covetor, this was on ebay. I am sure there is more out there as well, less known sites. The EVE mail giving out a web address for buying ISK is annoying as well, they spam systems as they pass through, I am glad I didn't have my other character logged in at that point.

i'm the one quoting a fact that can be checked in response to a post by the OP about ccp banning accounts. and btw using my main to do so.
your the one pulling figures out of your a$$ in a poor attempt to be funny, whilst trolling this and most other threads in this channel hiding behind a ! . -

You would have just linked to begin with if you weren't trolling.
Consider searching wikipedia or answers.com for a definition on what trolling is.
You'll find that it perfectly matches your behaviour in this thread.

excuse me?
i gave an answer to the OPs question about why ccp dont ban accounts, quoting, accurately, a post from oveur that they banned 1000 accounts last month.
u respond with a figure u made up which has no foundation that they "unbanned 1000 accounts".
i tell u where the post is that the DEV quote was from but as u are oviously too lazy to look for it yourself u try to be a smarta$$ about it.
i eventually find the post for u proving my original comment was in fact correct.
but obviously i'm the one doing the trolling not the idiot trying to be controversial and spamming every thread in the channel with nonsense. -

If you two were sexy girls in tube tops in a steel cage under sprinklers, this would be awesome.
As it stands, cut it out.
The trade of real-life currency for in-game assets and abilities is a problem in every MMO. Even in a game as unforgiving as EvE, farming takes place, and the fruits of that proctice are traded in real life for money that can be exchanged for goods and services. I think mining should be made a low-sec-only profession (0.5 and above have fields full of low-end veldspar rocks and no ic at all), both to prevent macro mining and to remove new players' misconception that it's practical to make a living in EvE without training weapon skills.
We can't trust people to be honest, so we can at least limit empire dwellers to mission running, ratting and declaring war on each other, which is what they should be doing anyway.
And get rid of NPC corps, or at least drastically reduce the sec status penalty for attacking, destroying and podding members of NPC corps. It's silly that the players who try to organize are painted with big "Grief Me" signs, while the lone wolves who just ramble around playing as though there's nobody else in the game are immune to aggression.

the one goos aspect of the buying isk for eve instead oflike other MMO's is that they can buy isk, but they can also use that isk to buy a nice big expensive ship, then they go to low sec space, and then i blow the noobs up lol, in other MMO's even when you die u keep the stuff you have brought, but here in eve most of the time, unless your a complete safe space carebear you stand to loose most of what you had brought,

I really dont care much about people paying to get a boost on the very start, they will still have a lot of practice and experience to gain and this can only be achieved with time.
Also if you are going to blame them, you can start to blame people who start playing sports with the finest equipment while you dont have enought money is making your way up very slowly. As a photographer this happend with me, since I live in third world I studied a lot and practiced a lot and when I got the chance I bought a top notch equipment, when almost every professional would droll for it and they blamed me because I had a more financial condition???!!! Dont take me wrong I understand very well your point, I just think you are not looking for the other "side of the coin".
There is one more thing, as always in life people who start with a lot of money THINK they get most of the game, but those who really make a fortune by him/her self is the people who really enjoy the game. I tell you this because I play this game for more then 1 year and it still give me shivers wit a load of adrenaline when I travel in low sec with a Mastodon with a cargo of 200mil or even more. I know of player who started with 100mil and quited the game after 2 months because they thought it was boring.
WHAT I HATE ABOUT ISKS SELLERS is the spam that is taking the game now. If nothing is done, in a short time we will see the same problem we face in the internet inside EVE.
What really Sig removed, please keep it below 24000 bytes, email [email protected] if you have any questions - Xorus

What really
Nah it's more like, paying money to the judges to bribe them to make you win even if you didn't really. You didn't earn that shiny titan you got from the ISK you bought on ebay. But you did earn that shiny new camera that you bought with the money you earned.

...to burn witches...it really really parallels quite nicely. Petition and move on. CCP *does* take action. If they're not banned, they're not macrominers. EOS. Think someone's ebaying? Petition and move on. EOS again...
Reggie Stoneloader, actually a lot of MMO's don't ban it. Take UO, for example. Or Second Life, which embraces it. And so on.

personally i would like to see some sting operations.
Have GM make new accounts and then go and buy isk. this gets you the seller account.
then watch those accounts to see who transfers isk to the sellers. then see where the isk is coming from.
Then one day lay waste with the ban hammer, get not only the sellers, but the producer of isk. I bet you find that allot of the isk is coming from macro miners. Ban not only there credit card, but also there IP address, mac address.
Make it hard for them to actually get back on. If a isk seller had to A get a new IP address/ buy a new nic, and get a new credit card every time they got shut down there profits drop.

Rask,
That is against the Ebay TOS and EULA. They WOULD take action against CCP. CCP's option is to use the VERO program to reomve items from Ebay, but this has legal implications and they - for whatever reason - do not use it.
GTC selling has CRUSHED the Ebay market anyway!
A new nic is $5, and you can spoof MAC addresses like that *snaps his fingers*. Also, they use proxy servers, and don't use credit cards to buy accounts. All because they don't want to be traceable.
