Hi all :)
I have an experience i would like to ask the more knowledgable people on this forum about.
Seeing that my tank would break, i started warping out from a mission at around 40 percent shield. The ship was aligned and warp power at full, but the ship didnt warp (i was not scrambled). It remained that way for at least 30 seconds (didnt take the time, but it went through the rest of my shields with booster on, armor, and then structure), and then the ship finally blew up.
I've never seen anything like this before, so i would like to ask the more knowledgeable people in here if this is "normal", or if something didnt work quite as it should.
Thanx for any replies :)

Did you try to warp to the start of the deadspace? You can't warp from deadspace to deadspace, only to out-of-deadspace objects.

Some possibilities:
you were actually warp-scrambled and hadn't noticed the message. (Unlikely, unless you're as thick as I frequently am )
you were webified to such an extent that it took over half a minute, even to make the minor turn necessary to enter warp (it could be less than five degrees - barely noticeable to the naked eye - but you'd still have to make it).
Your client was out of sync with the server, and the warp never in fact got activated. (This one sux, and should qualify for reimbursement but I don't think it can be verified.)

I shouldnt have been warp scrambled, there were no messages to say an attempt was even being made (had a warp stab also).
I cant remember if i was webbed or not, the speed was replaced by "warping", and my eyes were honestly more fixed on the steadily decreasing shield / armor / hull, hehe. There are usually quite a few webbing boats among the enemy tho, so chances are bigger that i was than not.
As to being out of sync, i honestly couldnt say if i was or not, there was no indication that i was (that i could tell). But then there rarely is until something nasty happens :)
I'll try to petition it i guess, but even if i do get reimbursed, it wouldnt be this side of christmas most likely :)
Thanx for your answers all :)

Known lag bug with warping. Just cancel the warp and warp again. You should warp the second time around.

On a lighter note, you might try to petition it. I have had ships returned eventually for similar experiences. In my case, it would not even cancel warping to try and warp again, my ship just slowly coasted to a stop with the warp active.

I petitioned it, hopefully their answer wont be *that* long in coming :)
In the meantime, i bought and outfitted a new Raven, and went on another mission.. i cant wait to get an answer to this one..lol.
ok, so i warp into the mission.. 3 enemy battleships, 4 BC's and 3 towers. Kill the towers, 3 of the BC's (NOS'ing the fourth, so keeping that alive on purpose), and since im taking a pounding from the BS's, i plan to warp out and recharge before going back in.. only.. suddenly the mouse dont respond.. the cursor is there, its moving just fine, but hitting either mouse button dont do anything. In desperation, i hit CTRL + Q to prevent my second Raven from going up in smoke.
Now comes the fun part.. i outfitted the Raven with 6 cruise launchers, and had 1000 devastator cruise missiles in the hold. When i log back in, i have no cruise missiles in the hold, but instead i have 300 juggernaut torpedoes and 200 mjolnir torpedoes ?!?
Whats up with that ?

Webbers can only speed up ur warping time, and if not spee dup, it remains the same, the 2nd reason is most likely.

Webs will help you hit max speed and warp faster but they will kill your align time in some of the slower ships. If you're already aligned webbing will only help.
God help you if you get a bunch of webs on you while in a prophecy and the closest spot to align and warp to is behind you.
I think it's still possible that the OP was scrammed and the messages were just overran by combat spam.

That sounds like a classic server-client desync. If you were scrambled, you would not have seen the warping spedbar. From what you wrote, chances are pretty good for a reimbursement.
BM the can and have someone else warp there for recovery while you're not in the system. That way he can safely recover your remaining stuff if it was a mission. --*=*=*--
Even with nougat, you can have a perfect moment. |
