Sign this if you feel freighters should be able to scoop cans in space. IÆve heard that if enough people want it done, the devs will change it.
This is one of the only things I feel strongly about in eve. If the reason you don't want this changed is because of macros, think again! Do not let them spoil our fun and make us have to work harder! As a hardcore miner, I feel it HAS to be done so this is my little attempt at getting it added in. Freighters being able to scoop would be a huge relief to the haulers out there (everyone hates hauling once you have done it enough times). It would also mean mining ops could be held in deep space more than one system away from a station, making use of many other systems with no station (Since you could haul it all in one big pile back). Hauling seems to be the only reason why mining ops are held close to stations and certainly one of the reasons why less and less mining operations are held, 70% of the systems out there are pretty useless for mining ops because of this... It would also make freighters a lot more popular and bring more strategy to mining and many other things (in my opinion). People would of course still use haulers and T2 haulers because of the freighters huge price.
After searching through the forums, I found I am not the only one who wants this change. There have been many posts before this one, maybe this will be the last? :) Would be a fantastic change in my opinion and bring relief to ALL miners out there. The sport of mining is getting more unpopular by the day. Pretty soon the only people mining will be macros. At this moment in time, you need more or less one hauler for every miner which causes tediousness. And tediousness is what will bring mining to an end :)
"Maybe some macro miners will use them, that is the worst thing I could see come of it." "Better game = More ppl = More money." "Something that will pickup even one jetcan in one trip would help and the freighter would have been an ideal way of doing it"
I hope you will do the right thing, and sign this :-)

People already use carriers to jump ore from op to station. The cost of fuel has been calucated to be nominal compared to the value of the ore and time saved.
Besides, I thought ASCN was setting up a few outposts per week.

I think freighters SHOULD be able to access corp hanger arrays as POS's though

I really do not see that coming out any time soon though. And this is just a simple code change, would probably take a dev a few minutes to do :) I don't think the devs planned on hauling being such a huge thing in mining, by that i mean, the amount of haulers needed and the effort it takes to move the ore from space to a station. I would personaly love to see huge freighters floating through asteroid belts, especialy now since people are finding new ways to move huge amounts of stuff huge distances using different ships.

Link plz.
Because I don't believe it. You shiuld have to use stations as freighter hubs, period.
