With Somer Blink shutting down today how do people feel that will change the economy and state of EVE?
Looking at their website they are currently refunding 1.4 trillion isk of deposits to blinkers. Will that effect the economy in any way?
Also I know a lot of people who only play EVE to grind isk to be able to blink, does no more blink = people stopping playing EVE?
As someone who plays EVE and blinks occasionally I find blink shutting down a sad thing, more so as the main reason seems to be the hate coming off these forums and different sections of CCP having no idea what other parts are doing.

Running a legitimate ISK-only gambling site is still insanely profitable, so someone else will undoubtedly come along to fill the economic niche of taking ISK from people with poor impulse control. |

So they're spamming transactions all over EVE to clog up the running investigation? Where do they still have active accounts to move all that ISK? Sovereignty and Population New Mining Mechanics |

Do you think Somer will get a set of dirty gold magnate ships as a farewell present? Totally not the gold magnate so it should be safe. |

Think the 1.4 trillion won't have that much of an effect if at all. Though if Somer decides to flood assets on market which I am sure they have a crap load, I think market will have an effect. |

I for one will miss sommerblink, i guess i'll actualy have to earn some isk now. Looking at my books i am about 12 billion isk up on total isk deposits of 1 billion. I guess i'll have to find another source of pirate faction ships, , and go back to watching **** on the 2nd screen while mining.
I can conferm that my sommerblink account balence has been refunded in full...not the actions of a scumbag...OMG an alleged RMT shows more class then any goon ever. (Though thats not hard)
Finaly i shall enjoy all the tears of high sec freighter gankers with the loss of sommerblinks massive transport operation into Jita. |

If I remember right.... the Monthly ISK injection into the economy is somewhere around a Net value of 35 Trillion, after isk sinks are taken into account. Given most of that 1.4 Trillion will be offset by assets that they won't be given out, I'd say the net 'injection' is maybe more like a 0.4 Trillion figure. So..... like 8-10 hours worth of global income. Not seeing a huge economy impact to be honest, and some more legit sellers of shiny things may see some movement as rich people spend their money elsewhere and it doesn't continue to pile up in Somers pocket. Overall a good impact, just very minor. |
