LOW SLOTS:

Why no armor? This is a gunship fit. Please feel free to replace the Mag Stab with Armor plating should you wish to (warning, 200mm plating or higher will surpass power grid).

That's a fairly cookie-cutter dual rep Incursus. You should look to change a a SAR II to a SAAR.

i use a similar thing sometimes, but i use navy cap booster 400's
with navy cap boosters you can fit more charges in ur hold and in the cap booster
if you want to go anti kite just stick on rails instead of blasters and you good to go. |

Anything that cant kite you at scram range will just disengage and leave.
Dual rep has a great tank, but is slow and cant maintain an engagement.
I fly a few fits that can mitigate damage at the edge of scram range easily enough and long enought to kill it.
Additionally, you need eithr Neutrons to make the Null hit out far enough or switch to rails, which wont track that well on that ship unless you really fly it and really manage the engagement envelope.
Again, great tank, horrible fight management ship. |

A SAAR outputs 2x the rep of a SAR II - so if you die either:
A) During the reload or B) When the repper is out of paste
Then you would've died with a regular 2x SARII setup anyway. Plus frigate fights are front-loaded in terms of damage unless its 2 stupidly over-tanked frigs. |

That's the Achille's heel of this fit: it's a CQC Brawler that performs great at point range but awful at long-range. "And when, at last, the moment is yours, that agony will become your greatest triumph." |

Yeah... scrap that void ammo. It's not going to help you on a ship with terrible range and no range control. It's also recommended to switch to 400 navy cap boosters as they will prolong your lifespan. The two non anciliary repairers are fine... since that ship thrives on long engagements.
The problem with that fit is that you a) can't engage kiters b) can't engage scram kiters and c) other brawlers will just run away from you when they're losing. At least add an ecm drone there so you have some hope of ever breaking a lock and webs to your target. And as nice as your active tank is, you're still going to die if you try to outbrawl most of the bigger fish out there (brawling assault frigates, navy frigates, destroyers still have too much dps for you to handle). Some people suggest railguns but the tracking witouth a web is goddamn awful and it's even easier to run away from.
From experience, that ship only shines at one thing. Scrap the afterburner and replace it for a mwd and head to nullsec to fight other interceptors. You can confortably tank a few crows at once, and some proper slingshotting will let you get into their face and eat them for breakfast, and if all fails you can just tank out the agression timer and jump back. People also have a harder time running away from you inside a bubble (non intys). .. |

I've yet to get a battleship kill with the incursus, but I'm gonna keep trying. Had a few splode me, but you know... learning. It's a nifty little ship, and with the dual reps you've got a bit more wiggle room than most for mistakes. Other fits are just as valid, of course, but as someone who's still fairly new to pvp I've found it to be helpful to have an extra second or two when the 'oh crap!' moments happen. |

Generally speaking the dual rep Incursus is a good ship, but definitely not in lowsec FW PvP. Most frig brawlers in lowsec FW will have ab+scram+web and will either just hold your dual rep Incursus out of its blaster range (8km where even null does minimal damage) and chip away is tank till you run out of boosters or just burn out of your scram range and warp away if they're losing. The only good fights you'll get are against noobs who don't know any better, and other scram no web ships like other dual rep Incursus (which will take ages and is incredibly boring).
Personally I would recommend a rail fit scram kite Incursus. It's still technically a 'brawler' since it operates in scram range and you should still avoid long point kiters like the Condor/Slicer/Garmurs etc. but it does wonders against other short range brawlers and even against other scram kiters you have more range control so you can disengage if things start going south. This is the fit I've flown ALOT and is easily my favourite Incursus fit:
[Incursus, Rails]
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Pseudoelectron Containment Field I Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste Overdrive Injector System II
1MN Afterburner II J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I X5 Prototype Engine Enervator
150mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S 150mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S 150mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Small Processor Overclocking Unit I Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Hobgoblin II x1
The general idea is to keep at range at 8km against most enemy ships while avoiding their damage and doing full damage with your rails (or if against lasers/ac force them to use scorch/barrage for less dps), if you do happen to get caught by a long point kiter you can load spike and attempt to chase them off so you're not completely helpless which is a nice plus. Popular webless ships like the dual rep Incursus and the triple neut tristan die hilariously to this fit. Here are some good kills I've gotten in this ship that you couldn't achieve in a dual rep fit:
http://egk.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=23729519 - Enyo http://egk.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=23743037 - Dual web arty firetail http://egk.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=24314013 - Brawl comet http://egk.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=24894402 - dual prop dramiel
As well as things like armor AC thrashers or catalysts that have enough dps to punch through dual rep incursus reps or triple neut tristans that will completely neutralize your tank. This also doesn't include the many times I've taken a fight and bugged out when I was in structure (mostly against rocket boats which is a weakness of this ship since you can't avoid their damage). Give Rail Incursus a try and you'll never look back to dual rep Incursus for solo PvP. |

Dual-rep Incursus is the Gallente's designated bait-tanker. They are fantastic if you have a gang coming behind you, but not great for solo work. As mentioned several times, range dictation is everything.
Frigate v frigate combat rarely lasts longer than 30-45 seconds, unless your dual rep incursus is being kitted by a cheap condor (which will inevitably happen). If you're looking for heads up 1v1 combat, you're better off with the following:
3x Small Neutron Blaster II's (Void is fine, I'll explain)
Meta4 Web Meta4 Scram T2 Afterburner (MOAR SPEED!)
DC-II ANP-II SAAR Mag-stab-II
Hybrid Collision Accelerator Hybrid Burst Aerator
Hobgoblin-II
If you can dictate range, then you can hold a 'Keep at range: 1000m'. Your target will have little to no transversal and overheated Void will shred them nicely.
Meta4 web/ scram use less cap and have the same effectiveness as T2, but the T2 AB gives more speed than its meta4 sibling.
Victory is determined by tank divided by incoming effective dps, and the blaster Cursus has the highest dps potential of any T1 frigate in the game. The above fit can dish out ~270dps overheated and hold most targets right at optimal. Absolutely melts things.
Avoid anything that will out tank/dps you, or is likely to be similarly web/ab fit with a higher base speed (like a Firetail).
Lastly, armor plates slow you way down, hurting that whole range dictation thing. I wouldn't use them on an Incursus unless you're baiting. Good luck! |

Yikes.
Dual rep Incursus aren't great IMO, basically capable killing baddies and not much else, I flew this set up to great effect, an excellent scram kiter and easy to fly;
[Incursus, 125 rail plate] F85 Peripheral Damage System I Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
1MN Afterburner II J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I X5 Prototype Engine Enervator
125mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S 125mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S 125mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Small Hybrid Burst Aerator I Small Hybrid Locus Coordinator I Small Anti-Explosive Pump I
Acolyte II x1
Pretty simple, hang around at like 8K for most fights, tanks nicely and puts out decent ranged DPS, Explo rig might by worth dropping for something else now that Warrior IIs aren't so prolific, obviously you can spend more isk on better tackle/DCU. |

Yes Autocannons, this fit is very cap dependent so it would take only one neut (Or a battle lasting more than 1 minute and 12 seconds) to drain my cap to zero. At least with AC's I can still shoot w/o cap and AC's are a lot easier to fit than blasters. Sure if you want more DPS you can do it with Blasters, but you're going to be sacrificing a lot of tank to do it. Also this tank setup will still work as a massive buffer tank even if you have no cap left to regen armor. "Your security status has been lowered." - Hell yeah it was! |
