They are way too cheap for one thing. They need to be made so people don't just leave them up because they are so inexpensive that they aren't worth taking down. People shouldn't be able to completely cover gates with them without risking something of significant value. Pirates have it so easy in this game, it is ridiculous.
The best thing would be for the game to only allow only one Mobile Warp Disruptor within 150km of the gate. |

I'm sensing that you got killed multiple times with bubbles because you're too stupid to avoid them.

They're warp bubbles. They are meant to counter your warp drive. If you land in the middle of a bubble pray to God that you have an MWD fitted. "And when, at last, the moment is yours, that agony will become your greatest triumph." |

I think they are a bad game mechanic, but for a completely different reason. I just personally feel they take away from the need of interdictors. I believe game mechanics in EvE should encourage more people in ships in space, not less. |

So the OP thinks Mobile Warp Disruptors are too overpowered? This is pure madness, considering the amount of ships either capable of burning through a bubble and warp out, or able to ignore them outright (Interceptors, nullified T3s).
Hell, I like that you can make your own traps somewhere, maybe trying to drag someone out of warp in the middle of nowhere.
And I can't complain about their strength, since they're pretty easy to avoid as long as there aren't a shitton just piled up around a gate. And it that happens, well you still have options, like not going through a gate when the in-game map tells you hundreds of people just died over there. |

I for one, believe that we need more bubbles...and they need to bring mines back, or at least make mines that have to be set within a warp disruption field.

Arkus Kane wrote:Charles Muffins wrote:Mobile Warp disruptors are the most overpowered thing in EVE. They guarantee the destruction of any ship that crosses their path, and can't be avoided in any way. Yes, they can't be avoided at all. Except for: 1. D-scanning gates in a system before you jump to them. 2. Checking the map for destroyed ships in the last hour. 3. Scouting ahead with a friend/alt. 4. Using a ship which renders bubble scramming irrelevant (T3 cruisers IIRC, possibly Blockade Runners?) 5. Using a ship which makes life hard for the gankers to lock you (cloakies, though I haven't tried this). 6. Using a ship with a high natural velocity. 7. Using wormholes, a system that almost ENTIRELY nullifies gate-camps and lets you move around with impunity. I haven't "lived" in null-sec, so I don't really know what role they serve in large fleet engagements. But the most I'd concede is they're a bit cheesy, in terms of the detrimental effect they have on encouraging people to stay mining their whole life in 1.0 sec space. Mind you, the more people sitting in 1.0 mining mindlessly, the less actually stealing my profits in low sec and 0.0, so that's good Hitting a warp bubble and getting ganked by 15 people isn't fun, that doesn't mean it needs nerfing. It means you need to actually think about what you're doing before you do it.
Or easier than that, go to one of your intel channels and ask if anyone is camping the gate you are worried about.
What's the point in a multiplayer game if you don't use other players for help?
