Hi so in about a month I'm going to have a couple Corp mates from Dust join me on Eve. I already regularly scan down relic and data sites but would like to start doing combat sites with them when they join and train up a bit. Basically I'm looking for tips and fits that would allow them to duo the NPCs with relative safety. (I'll be in a dedicated scanner / salvaged ship). So any skill / ship / ect recommendations are most appreciated. |

For starting out they can work the low level Combat sites in high security, both rated and unrated sites.
Cosmic Signature: Unrated Combat = Hideout, Lookout Rated Combat = DED 1/10, DED 2/10
And don't forget about the Cosmic Anomalies, they have a small chance to spawn a Commander NPC and the site could also escalate.
Cosmic Anomaly: Hideaway, Burrow,
After a while you can then jump on the tougher high security sites:
Cosmic Signature: Unrated Combat = Watch, Vigil Rated Combat = DED 3/10, DED 4/10
Cosmic Anomaly: Refuge, Den
For guides and info about these sites, try google search and check various wiki's such as Evelopedia, Uniwiki, etc.
I remember back in early 2009 when Exploration was first redone in the Apocrypha Expansion, I had a couple of friends who would join me in running the Watch and Vigil sites. Course we weren't highly skilled back then and each of us would warp out at various times. After completing the sites we would usually get an expedition and run that as well.
Had a lot of fun doing that. Course Exploration sites, loot drops and expeditions were a lot more plentiful back then. Eventually over time due to higher skill levels and better ship fits, we didn't need to fleet up to complete those sites.
Anyway, good luck to you and your friends.

If you're in high sec you'll only be dealing with frigs/cruisers so adjust your fits accordingly. Once you get into low sec/null you run into BC's and BS'.
I started off using a Caracal and Vexor. Once I'd farmed enough I upgraded to a Gila(fabulous!). At the moment I have the Gila stationed in null while I use my Vexor Navy Issue for highsec.
Give it a few days and you'll be hooked. There have been more than a few days where I got drops worth 150+ mil...makes it all worth it. Not the most insane ISK but its good fun and opens the doors to begin blinging your ships out. |

Thank you for the replies, definitely looking into the Vexor, and the Gila looks like it could be fun. If anybody has more suggestions, please don't hold back. Taking and appreciating all advice given. |

Use mobile depo to switch drones. Also take tractor unit. Some sites u can blitz , by killing overseer, or destroing overseer structure. Just frop it from ur cargo, smash overseer and w8 untill loot comes) |

Dont overthink it, and try out different stuff, for example serp and blood in high sec you can get away with a simple vexor with 2x large extender and no other tank mods, with two of those vexors, you can even finish everything just using light drones and sentrys for highest sites (4/10, watch, vigil), a single vexor would probably need meds/geckos and thus tracking mods.
If you ever get to the bling phase, a less cap draining deadspace mwd will probably help much.
For extreme low skills Gnosis is worth considering, it wont be much fun running away from elite cruisers, but doable. |

For exploration combat sites i think the best weapon systems are drones/missiles. Now for HS combat sites it is more about multitasking than pure DPS, and since you guys gonna fleet up i suggest you go vexor+corax, the two togheter is basicly a gila. By this i mean, the vexor can tank all ded up to 4/10 and focus on cruisers while the corax with 7 light launchers can kill multiple frigs at once. The other benefit from this set up is your friends can specialize their skills training, one will go drone armor tank unlocking Ishtar/dominix while the other goes for missiles shield and aim for cerberus/tengu, and all those ships will be usefull when you decide to go low and null sec.
