Once again, thanks CCP for the Sig ID upgrade.
What does the BrownFingertips Corp member find so hard to swallow about that?

So, this means you get a digital "certainty" ID for specific players. This number used to change. Now it doesn't, so one scan can give you a roster of digital IDs that will serve for the life of the game....I wonder what sort of person might use something like this? Anybody want to question who CCP panders to now? Dont fight it; Rejoin your Amarrian patriarchs; You know you want to. |

The ID was never related to any player or character. This hasn't changed. Like the patchnote says, the signature/anomaly codes for the same site would be different either side of downtime. Now they'll stay the same for as long as that site stays in space. "This one time, on patch day..." CCP Masterplan -á| -áTeam Five-0: Rewriting the law |

I think he may be refering to Combat Probing and the Sig ID's of player ships in scan results. Are they affected by this patch in any way? |

Other than a one-off change during yesterday's release, no they aren't affected. Player ships will continue to give consistent IDs for the same ship item across downtimes (ie until it is repackaged and reassembled). "This one time, on patch day..." What about if session changes? In the past a session change would assign ships new id.
IE Ship docks/undocks = new scan id, ship jumps out of system and back = new scan id Blue-Fire Best Fire |

I can see wspace corps creating a whitelist of known corp ship IDs now. That is, if storing in a hangar doesn't reset it. |

What I think would make this change even more awesome is if this ID would be added to signature's name when we try to bookmark it. People hate highsec for various reasons. Mine is the terrible metallic music that plays on and on. |

IE Ship docks/undocks = new scan id, ship jumps out of system and back = new scan id I just went and had a look into this (As I was not entirely sure myself how this worked), and I can confirm that on pre Hyperion build the ids remain the same no matter what you do (Change system, dock and undock, relog etc)
So we have not changed this in Hyperion, and it seems to have always been this way, hope this helps!
