I've noticed a few new spam alts posting SOMER Blink clone sites in local since the original SOMER Blink was shut down.
I just want to know if they can be reported or does CCP allow these. If it's perfectly fine with CCP I don't want to waste anyone's time with a support ticket.
Before anyone can derail this thread I'm not asking if this if this is morally okay or hurting the game or anything like that. |

You can bank on some group filling the gap left with Somer Blink out of business. Multiple other gambling sites already exist, and I am sure most plex buyers are already using other reseller sites.
So yeah, someone combining the 2 concepts again is inevitable.

The gambling aspect of these sites (or Blink for that matter) is not a violation of anything.
Where Somer got into trouble was offering ISK incentives for purchases of PLEX. So for example, when Somer said "we will give you 1B additional ISK when you spend $19.99 to by a PLEX" - that is RMTing as it is essentially giving ISK (above and beyond the PLEX market price) for real money.
The site itself or EVE gambling in general is not an issue. |

Yeah I thought about putting in a petition but I didn't want to put one in if it was invalid. Honestly I'm not against or for the whole thing so it's not a big deal. I was more curious than anything. |

Sounds like a scam or a bonus room wannabe.
As long as the site doesn't give ANY reward or bonus for choosing a particular GTC seller, they are good. It's when they do that (first Somer RMT fiasco,) or offer to buy back the PLEX for "slightly" above Jita rates (latest Somer RMT fiasco,) that things turn into RMT. I think Somer initially had a rule about not being able to withdraw ISK to avoid potential use as an ISK laundering service for RMTers [:irony:], but I can't remember if that was CCP mandated or just something they did because they felt like it (or to allow them to give bonuses for rolling your winnings back in).
EOH Poker doesn't seem to have any problem with it, though.
Other than that, what you're describing sounds fine. CCP didn't close down Blink, and Somer never got in trouble for the in-game business model of Blink. "It's easy to speak for the silent majority. Whether it's a gambling site or an ISK doubler doesn't matter to them. As long as morons keep buying PLEX to fund their pathetic delusions of getting rich quick, CCP happily keep selling ISK to them.

I didn't quite edit fast enough once I realized I was setting myself up for one of the forum pedants to jump on that.

It doesn't take much to investigate a site... I generally check on it's history via EVE forums and do domain checks (whois etc).
Here's 2 sites...
Do a check on MoreIsk.com You will see it's owned by a Russian who's email address is isktrader@****** Generally I avoid sites owned by Russians due to the high amount of RMT'ing over there. Secondly... the email address rings alarm bells.
Do a check on IWANTISK.COM You see will nothing of concern. It has a solid history coming from the developers of Eveopulous and has been competing with SOMER for a while before SOMER shutdown.
The ultimate test is seeing if people are unbanned by CCP. Occasionally people are flagged for RMT'ing when large amounts of isk are transferred, this is followed by a ban. If it's known that CCP have reversed the ban after their investigation then I generally trust the site as CCP have been near it.
This is why you will see me playing IWANTISK.COM as it's the only site I trust atm.
**IWANTISK has a referral system that all of it's players can use. If you found the information provided useful and fancy having a look at IWANTISK then please do so via my referral link http://www.iwantisk.com/?ref=1025306608

Yea lets not...
Obviously CCP didn't close down SOMER Blink because it's not their website but we're splitting hairs here.

CCP Falcon wrote:After careful consideration and consultation with CSM9, who have displayed an outstanding level of support in assisting with this issue, CCP has taken the decision to permanently ban the founder of SOMER Blink from EVE Online across all accounts, with immediate effect. This is due to multiple violations of our EULA and Terms of Service.
Following the promotion, CCP no longer regards SOMER Blink as a fair or legitimate service within the EVE Community. We are unable to provide reimbursements as per section 1.3 of our reimbursement policy, so itGÇÖs good to see that SOMER Blink is shutting down in a controlled and stable manner, and that players will be able to withdraw their ISK and / or assets.

Regardless of how you feel about Somer, his website was a thing of beauty.
He made billions if not trillions of isk out it. Its amazing success is what ultimately lead to his downfall.
He had so much isk that instead of putting to some use like funding his own private army or what ever, he instead chose to try and turn into RL money.
He got banned. |

And the confirmed reasons for the ban were because he broke the EULA & ToS regarding posting of private communications including business E-mails. Again nothing to do with the website. Though they never confirmed or denied if RMT was also involved, but the RMT was related to plex incentives, not the gambling isk for items. |

Somer turned Blink off well before that was posted, and has never (to my knowledge) claimed that CCP asked him to stop running his site.
He was banned for [list of confirmed and suspected reasons] and his subordinates could have continued providing the perfectly legal service that they'd been providing for years.
