Does POS shoot a neutral char that is supporting a POS bashing fleet (remote reps)? If so, can the neutral char shoot back?

it all depends on the pos setting. You can make poses shoot anything in low sec, in high sec its more complicated. eve style bounties (done) dust boarding parties imagine there is war and everybody cloaks - join FW |

highsec only.
A description on the POS behaviour dependant on settings would be nice. Also if there is a way to verify it (the setting) as an attacker. |

I don't think a POS can shoot a suspect of its own. I AM SPACE CAPTAIN REPPYK. -áI AM A LOWSEC GANKER, HIGHSEC SCUM, NULLSEC BASTARD, WORMHOLE INVADER. Welcome to, welcome to, welcome to my scramble. GÖÑ |

A POS is not able to recognize a suspect as a threat in high sec. You could manually control the guns and shoot it that way, (Maybe, haven't tried so can't confirm) but the POS guns will not cycle onto the suspect themselves.
It's possible the setting which allows POS' to shoot at anyone who's sec status is dropping would allow it to shoot suspects, but I doubt it as going suspect as logi doesn't lower your sec status. In hisec, you can only set POS guns to shoot War Targets, and people who's sec status is dropping. The latter rarely produces any effect though since dropping your sec status in hisec prompts a CONCORD response, and they will generally kill the target before your POS guns can even lock it.* The POS will not automatically engage suspect targets, and I am uncertain if a POS gunner may target and/or engage a suspect ship. I've been suspect on a POS giving reps to folks shooting it on several occasions, but I've never taken fire, even from manned guns.
I may have to test this last bit tonight.
Incidentally, it's surprising the number of people who don't configure their POS to shoot at war targets....
*EDIT: Neat factoid: if someone goes criminal in hisec but manages to make it inside a POS shield before CONCORD arrives, their ship will simply explode inside the POS shield with no CONCORD arriving on-grid. Neat to watch, but it makes the wreck un-salvagable. CCP Falcon's thoughts on suicide ganking. Reading Comprehension: a skill so important it deserves it's own skillbook.
