I must admit I am disappointed. Instead of being innovative and creating new procedures to handle these WHs further annotation has been handed out. The WH community used to be so vibrant learning to work the game mechanics to their advantage now it has become as stale as null sec. Pity. Of all the podcasts I listen to Hyrdostatic is the best! http://hydrostaticpodcast.blogspot.ca/ Nolen Cadmar spreadsheets: Excellent value, great customer service. The WH community used to be so vibrant learning to work the game mechanics to their advantage now it has become as stale as null sec. Pity. The only way to know if these holes were frigate holes or not before the patch, was to try and jump through the hole. This was particularly annoying. Having the ships it allows through, be it by a certain colour of hole or (as the patch notes say) by a description, is incrediably helpful and needed to be put in.
However I do still feel that CCP are turning WH space into a playground for frigates, we already have Factional Brokenfare for that. But that's my opinion and a different story for a cold wet day. Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person." |

There are so many more elegant ways of doing it then explicitly stating it in the show info. This doesn't go along with the theme of wh's at all. Has CCP lost their passion for this game? Because this release feels so half-assed Blue-Fire Best Fire |

Has CCP lost their passion for this game? Because this release feels so half-assed It's an easy quick patch for them to change a show info. Keep on them to do new art for the holes that is visually distinctive at all levels of graphics settings and then remove it from show info and you might get some luck long term. But would you rather wait for the art team and have no clue till you press jump, or have some information now. |

This is good news. I appreciate how quickly this improvement was implemented. Kudos and thanks to whatever portion of the development team got this done. |

Yep, fine little patch. I still hope though that we get some visual clue though. Get those art people creative! |

Any art changes will inevitably require more work to come through the pipeline, compared to this text change that we did. With the new frigate-sized wormholes making K162 jumps more likely to be denied, we wanted to get this info in to the client as quickly as we could, and the Show-Info window is already set up for presenting the dynamic wormhole status. I can assure you that the art team were very enthusiastic about their options when we presented this to them. "This one time, on patch day..." CCP Masterplan -á| -áTeam Five-0: Rewriting the law |

Speaking without any knowledge about the background workings of all this, but wouldn't it be similarly trivial to scale the size of the wormhole down by XX% to indicate that it is smaller ?
I quite like the idea of scancruisers decloaking on these things so I can kill them, and with this notice in the show info you basically reduced the pool of viable targets to only the REALLY stupid ones :) |

Seriously shouldn't have been implemented like this at all. Now people will cry when/if it gets removed. |

I wasn't expecting art be done that fast that we can already try it on singularity as fozzie mentioned!

I must be in a minority that would like to see wormhole "show infos" telling us practically nothing, but the visual telling those with a trained eye everything. "Show info" giving out all of the intel seems like the antithesis of w-space.
Like how already different colour k-space exits correspond to different areas of space. A frig wormhole could've had an extra small circular section or something, and we could have different animations for different stages of wormhole collapse (shrinking isn't sufficient I don't think since at different zoom levels you wouldn't intuitively tell). |

Would be nice if frig only wormholes looked totally different to the normal ones i.e. looked something like a tear in space/time rather than a properly formed wormhole. |

Faction warefare is great fun, and not broken. If you played in faction warefare a few years ago, you would know how good it is now!

that thread wrote:New wormhole effects! In addition to the classic nebulae visualisations that you could use to predict roughly in which region the wormhole exited, wormholes will now feature new visual clues as to the upper limit of mass that they can transmit as well as new distortion and ribbon effects. When you are building something new you don't just go for the perfect size to begin with. You have to make the big ruff cut, then you go in with a fine blade and smooth it out. Considering everything I have read and heard, we are f**ked for a few patches. Doesn't mean wormholes are dead just that we are going to have to ride the waves.
Look on the bright side. At least we dont have to wait 6 months for things to change, one way or the other. This patch has just made me drink a little more on my roams to make them funner. |
