But yeah, people don't take CODE seriously because their entire existence is designed as a giant joke. Nobody legitimately believes the code, it's just an excuse to gank (not that excuses are needed) and a way to spread a bit of content. It has nothing to do with their spelling. Codes credibility issue stem from their role playing base. Folks that don't buy into a chosen roleplay format just don't get it. It's difficult to understand a deep role playing groups point of view unless you are immersed in their fantasy.
Role playing is fine with me, I'm just saying you don't see the LARP crowd partying with the FURRY crowd. Even if they 'get' each other - it's just hard to mix 2 sets of role play at the same time and those that don't get role playing at all are just out of the picture.
Code has painted itself into a credibility corner. The good news... historically the deep immersion role players are happy in their corner and don't really care what the rest of the world thinks of them. (I think it's a true beleiver thing) In some groups this isolation forms a deeper bond within a particular role playing community.

'kills bots' When did the New Order start doing that? Even in some of their newer propoganda they say they leave the bots to CCP to deal with. Don't get them confused with being useful.

I actually don't know who CODE are. I've never seen one in space in the areas where I live, or if I have he didn't live long enough for it to register.
I assume they are the kind of high-sec griefers who wardec helpless indy corps and then walk around all chest-stuck-out because they killed an empty hauler on the jita undock?
That's the impression I get, in any case. Is this about right?

Why would anyone take highsec F1 derps seriously. I mean I'm not a ganker myself, not that I have any serious beef with the ganking, but as far as I understand its basically, EHP/Volley, rinse - repeat. Which honestly sounds almost as boring as mining.
As far as not taking it seriously, I don't share some of the cuter eve players perception on RP. Silly nonsense should be pointed out for what it is instead of taken seriously. Otherwise you allow for the perpetuation for more silly nonsense.
I don't care if they play this way, but it does come off as boring and very low brow, which is likely why they need all this mythos nonsense. (think juggalo/ICP derps)
My only real complaint is that it isn't interesting, and the entire thing reminds me of some Jehovys coming to my door every other day. I don't care what you're into, but i think the community as a whole is just tired of hearing about it.
I mean dessys, barges, and indys dont make the news, because really who cares. The whole thing just strikes me as played. Tell you what I do like though: A killer. A dyed-in-the-wool killer. Cold-blooded, clean, methodical and thorough.

Rayo,
Content is content. If a group (whose name will not be mentioned here due to being completely unknown in the vast expanse of New Eden further than 200km from the Jita undock) creates content for themselves and their victims, then this is content.
Years ago, before high-sec ganking became the new norm in griefing, there was a corp (alliance?) called BL3H (The United),. who camped the "short" pipe from Jita to Hek 24/7. They were legendary. There were also a few other legendary pirate corps at the time but none with the reputation of BL3H.
In fact, in 2005, our corp moved to Rorsins with the lofty ambition of ridding EVE from BL3H. I'll spare you a couple of years of history but suffice it to say that after a 2-1/2 year skirmish, BL3H were still there and while we learned a LOT in the process, all of our pilots (about 100 in total) had moved on to nullsec... and a few had defected to BL3H.
BL3H were unstoppable because they are like your OCD cousin who doesn't think about what they are learning, only about what they are doing. For a corp like ours, we couldn't compete with that kind of mental focus. We simply didn't have enough autistics in our corp.
But hell.... did THEY create content!
To this day I look back on that period as being important in learning how EVE works. BL3H (I believe) may be still doing the same thing they were back in the day, and although they now come across to me as being hopeless noobs, they are also indirectly responsible for catapulting our corp into a period of 8 years of continuous nullsec play.
That is content!
Likewise CODE may eventually reach a point where they are known beyond the borders of the Jita undock. Although I don't know who they are, I do appreciate, and will defend, their right to create content in their own way. The fact that someone posted about them on the forums is already proof that the ripples they are making could form eddies that influence future generations of EVE players.

I'm not disputing the content or the play-style. Though I will get on the record of saying that "content" is quickly approaching the minding numbing overuse the same as "meta", as a buzzword that seems to want to give a pass to anything.
I've only been here since '07 across 3 toons, but its a different game now than it was then. Even more so for your story.
I'm only saying that's its not newsworthy and has become tiresome at best, and because it all seems like a ton of fluff to me.
CODE is the CQ of alliances. Cute for a few moments, dismissing it entirely will in no way effect your game play, unless you yourself are mostly fluff.
Tell you what I do like though: A killer. A dyed-in-the-wool killer. Cold-blooded, clean, methodical and thorough.

Very rarely are CODE. pilots camping on stations. They typically patrol a span of systems, and explode miners or freighters. Not really campers.
However, a few corps also roam in lowsec. Killboard
