What do you guys think of it? Do you make use of it? Is the system good as is? Could use improvement? What would you like to see in it? Discuss all things bounty hunting. Hades Effect /-áDispute Services |

Alts.
Everything in EVE is a trap. And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:) You want to know what immorality in EVE Online looks like? Look no further than Ripard "Jester" Teg.

Examine the former system of collecting bounties, the current system of collecting bounties, and then provide us a new way of doing it that cannot be exploited for profit by those who have bounties placed on them while still remaining worthwhile for those players who are following players with attractive bounties around.

Ummm.
Can you be less vague, and please provide some examples why changes should be made and how those changes would effect things, and how those changes will not be exploited?
Thanks :) |

Actually the payout has to be less than the minimum amount of ISK it takes to assemble the killed ship minus insurance ... But is there a calculation why the bounty payout was set to 20%? I'm my own NPC alt. |

Actually I missed one point ... the payout has to be (in addition) less than 50% the value of the stuff inside the ship, hence we come closer to the 20% as a reasonable value. I'm my own NPC alt. |

Do away with insurance, replace it with the same percentage in bounty payouts. Problem solved.
I'd love to see PVP-ers rewarded for winning instead of being rewarded for losing through SRP programs. This would of course hurt solo pvp-ers significantly, but as someone who often forgets to insure his ships before small gang roams without srp, its not that bad.
Edit, just noticed I hit 1000 likes. Sending Ralph King-Griffin some isk for being the lucky winner! Increase the payout to somewhere between 30%-40% of ship/module/cargo cost.It would reward pvp'ers more while still not high enough to be exploitable. |

Imo, this would be great. Ship insurance is an awful, awful mechanic. "Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

To be honest, proper bounty hunting is the whole "I am placing a bounty of (insert amount here) on the first person to give me a killmail of (insert name here). If you can also get the capsule, bounty will be original payment plus 50%."
The current ingame system is not too great and can just be exploited.
I'm crap with coding so I couldn't do it, but maybe someone could come up with a site that people add characters too with a bounty payment to be recieved on destruction of ship or pod. (unless there is already one out there). To put the bounty up, you must transfere ISK to the site (or a player running the site, I dont know how these things work) and that is transferred to the first pilot that show the correct killmail after the bounty has been put up.
Dunno if that would work / be possible, but I dunno, better than the current system I guess... Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person." |

I see no reason that it could not be increased from 20% of the value of destroyed goods (hull/module/cargo/rigs but not counting things that drop) less insurance to 50% of that amount (destroyed goods minus insurance).
Yes, price manipulation is possible at 50%, but declare it an exploit, and that problem is solved (at least wheniaminspace).

That would unfortunately violate CCP's policy of "Do not discuss what is considered an exploit until after it has happened then ban people for it and refuse to comment on exactly what they did to be banned and how to therefore avoid it in the future." (CCP is free to contact me at any time if they have a problem with my perspective on their standings in regards to exploits)
Beyond that I like your idea. Tengu Grib> I read that as "Suddenly Noobships" and it made me want to hot drop someone with noobships. Buhhdust Princess> You have set us a challenge..We will try and do it!!!!!!!!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEeBnYi5bG0&feature=youtu.be |

Closest I felt to bounty hunting, finding some oblivious pilot with an active Kill right that isn't too expensive or got low enough security status, catch them. Then just hope there is a bounty that could cover the ammo cost. |
