Like the subject says. At the moment Implants on really serve mission runners. No PvP pilot is ever gonna fly into combat with +5% missle rtf implant thats cost 500mil. Now 25mil maybe. But that won't happen until a players can build them.

Edited by: Tiberius Caesar on 01/08/2006 06:30:34 Most hardwiring implants are dirt cheap. SOme are 10-20M. You want this changed because one implant is over priced (due to agent *****s)?
Seems pretty well thoughtout to me.

Edited by: Ixianus on 01/08/2006 07:04:02 Anything thats in the game should be buildable by players IMO, and maybe some things that arnt yet too ;),
Which in a sense is how it is, what with there being bpos to every item. However, players should of course not be able to mass produce imperial apocs or anything like that. Common use items and things that there are no real reasons for not being able to produce however should be allowed.

25mil for 5% missile ROF? While I think that's a mission runner's wet dream, no.
I like implants that give a boost that much to be pricy, otherwise it just becomes statdnard use.
Imagine T2 ships selling for only 50% more than build cost, everyone would fly them, and t1 would become totally obsolete, with the exception of the month(if that) you spend not being able to fly t2.

You've got three choices:
(1) Make the bpo for implants generally available. The price will collapse to around 10k per implant (they only require two units of minerals each, remember?)
(2) Keep them rare by limiting the number of bpo's. You're no better off than you are now, except that the money being paid for them will be concentrated into far fewer hands (HAC debate, anybody? )
(3) Leave things be.
Apparently, CCP just don't WANT all things to be commonplace. ________________________________________________

implants are bonuses, not a given, they should be expensive.

Well, if you can't afford the 500mil one, get the 40mil one which does 3%

I also think implants should be manufacturable. Or at least the basic attribute boosting ones. What is wrong with making +3 implants manufacturable items? Just seed em like T2 BPO's, or cargo I's were done. That way price stays (relativly) high. As for hardwireings, I could care less about most of them, they can be beneficial, but as far as I am concerned, they are just icing on the cake, I have never seen hardwireings win a battle, and attribute boosting implants dont effect combat. Plus CCP is always looking for ways to get newer players to "catch" up with people who have been playing for 3 years. Why not let the noobs get their full set of +3's earlier then we did, I am not so spiteful to say they should have to suffer every indignancy that we did. I like to see noobs grow faster then I did, It makes them better investments to my corp, and It lets people PvP earlier. Make +1 through +3 implants manufacturable in kali. Resources for these should probably be something like 200k for +1 (sell for 1 million isk) 1M isk for a +2 (sell for ~5 mil) and something like 10 mil for +3 (sell for 15-20M) and this can be controlled by making sure that the gas clouds or commets or whatever have to be harvested to make said items can be limited in supply so as to ensure that 500m3 of materials are not being used to make a tiny implant. Just make the materials rare.

Oh I also sign that items such as robotics and synaptic fibers have BPO's seeded, since they are used in production. Many of these types of items might also be useful in the manufacture of implants and other currently non manufacturable items.

I hope implant BPOs will never happen, I would lose my job. If you seed them as T2 BPO, what different it would make? Few lucky guys would become billionairies and prices wouldnt drop. Only solution would be releasing them as classic T1 BPO, but that would make half of agent offers useless since price would drop dramatically.
Also implants are one of the last things which makes your death in Eve painful. One lost BS and some mods is not disaster for most players today, but lost +5 set? Ouch that hurts!
Implants are fine as they are.

this will be made all redundant in kali anyway with combat boosters (time limited skill and attribute boosters) ie 60 second 400% boost to ROF
4 hour +10 attribute boosters to willpower
This is whats coming u can always do some missions and get implants that way

There was discussion a long time ago about being able to retrieve possibly degraded implants from corpses.
