To be fair, I find it difficult to take large groups of men in skirts seriously. Now just imagine how the UN member nations will react to a Scottish representative in a skirt.

The way i see it is a game of brinkmanship gone wrong. Salmond never intented this to get this far, and i think the westminster fools didnt think it would get this close to splitting the union, but the propganda has been something else, i used to think the bbc was impartial,
there was a debate yesterday with 16-17 years olds who were givin a vote, and ended up only letting in people that were going to vote no as around 80% were in the yes camp.

History will play a big part in a lot of peoples choice even though the events took place hundreds of years ago and injustices do seem to follow down the years.
I am Celt and proud of it, I hope the Scottish people do the right thing for Scotland and not just to put two fingers up to England.
Scotland,Ireland and Wales already have a distinct Identity and affinity to each other, It is a pity we are all dictated to by England and the Toffs in London. |

The message i keep on seeing from the broadcasters is that its a vote aganst england, when its a vote against westminster. As a person, alex salmond is a word that looks like knut , because of work iv met him a few times, and hes a grade a numpty.
the orange order are have a 15,000 man march in edinburgh on saturday, dont expect to see anything about that in normal media, the no camp want nothing to do with them, normal folk want nowt to do with them either.
We have witnessed one of the biggest propaganda campaines done by the bbc since the cold war, if not ww2 twitter: @glasgowdunlop-á TDSIN Recruitment Director : Join 'TDSIN pub' Glasgow Meet Organiser

I am entirely neutral about the whole prospect. I'm happy for Scotland whichever way they choose to go, but this can potentially screw up the English political map in the next general election - however, I dare say that this post is fast becoming rule 7 territory.. so i'll stop there. my view is that with what is proposed, all that is on offer is just a removal of an administrative layer between the EU parliament and implementation of EU rules and policies in Scotland. As Europe moves towards increasing integration, with national governments becoming less important and influential, then... Scotland does not and will not have many Euro MPs, the ability to influence things in the future, would be even less than it is currently.
I think that there is a great divide in Scottish society, and with the Pope having made statements, and the Orange order being involved, that these divisions have been re-opened, after a couple decades where they were being closed. I think this referendum debate has set back social progress quite a bit. As a result, whatever the outcome of the referendum is, I think there are going to be large numbers of people who are angry enough at the outcome, that they're going to do something stupid.
I think a yes result would be damaging, because it means giving up any and all influence over what the rUK would do - as an example when the yes campaign say there won't be any customs checks at the border, then that's not in their ability to guarantee - with the unwelcome appearance of handfuls of Scottish born militants in ISIS and the like, then there might be passport and customs checks introduced, and there'd be nothing the Scottish parliament could do about that. Or there'd be UK secret service people (not accountable to the Scottish parliament) watching Scotland's airports. A Scottish parliament doesn't get to complain if the rUK changes how university research is funded, or how the energy market works (subsidies for Scottish wind farms would be a touchy subject), or various other things relating to the huge amount of shared services and resources that the yes campaign promise would be unchanged.
I think a No result could be damaging, if there isn't a sustained campaign for democratic change - such as reforming the House of Lords to a proportionally representative body, that would keep in check the silliness that is the current system.
Also, you don't see many No voters who are open about it, because many yes campaigners are seemingly intent on doing their best to be undemocratic. Petty stuff such as vandalism of signs on private property, up to actual intimidation of people. A person here had a stone thrown through one of their windows, after putting up a no poster. Coincidence seems unlikely. Which goes back to the thing I said in my second point - whatever the result, there's going to be a lot of angry people, and I'm concerned some of them will do something stupid that will get people hurt or killed.
This time next week, we'll have a result, then maybe, we can learn to live with each other, because unlike the politicians, the celebrities, and the wealthy expatriate businessmen, we don't have the option of insulating ourselves. Be a Space Nun, it is fun. \o/ |

If Salmond and his yes camp win, we will both be worse off.
But then common sense isn't at the forethought in this debate now and I have a feeling there are now too many sheeple following a wolf in their clothing.

to counter this argument you openly oppose the centre right of british politics as is your right ...but if Scotland votes to split ill be laughing my left nut off as we in England will never see a labour government in power ever again ...the labour hartland is in Scotland its never been in the rest of whats the uk ...so in essence we will end up with either a tory government or a lib / lab pact which means nothing ever gets done
and to be fair ..id rather have a vote on getting out of Europe ...im not really interested in what Scotland does ..you can have your 5 meps in Brussels if that how you want it ...we are fiscalay better off
I don't want Scotland to go . |
