this is $%$ great! Did them for the first time 3 months ago, now decided to do them again, but my Gallente standings is so low that I cant do it. FN general shows up and blows me up in one hit. i know missions against other factions say that it will affect your standings with them, but nowhere does it say how bad it is! Nowhere does it say that you wont be able to do any missions in other systems! And why did they have to put this Epic Arc Mission in Gallente space??? Why not in Concord space, of which there is plenty around Arnon! Lost one frigate. Thought was unlucky that a big hit landed. Got in in another frigate, and got killed as soon as a general showed up, so no way of speed-tanking it.
Good job CCP telling me how to target a rock and mine it, and not telling me the importance of faction standings :(((( /rant off /a bit drunk |

Google is your friend...
And why would you think you can fly happily around in gallente space with tanked standings? |

This is not a feature or idea but you are new and apparently drunk so I won't troll you.
That being said, google Faction Standings Repair plan, read, execute.

Great, a new player should use Google to know how not to mess up his character? Great planning, CCP! I wouldnt expect to fly happily in Gallente space if I KNEW ABOUT IT!
Faction standings repair plan is all good and everything, but arent all those agents in the corresponding faction's space? Which brings me to the same problem...
And those other SoE agents - do they give a huge boost to faction of choice standings without derived standings? |

System to use if you have 2 accounts. Make alt on second account, run SOE epic arc with it, sit in pod on main account in fleet with alt for final mission (Choose Gallente option). Delete alt & remake. (Since you are not avoiding negative standing it's apparently legit, I did ask a GM). Run arc again immediately.
Assuming you have social skills on your alt, in next to no time you will be back above -2. Now sit in ship on main, offer help to newbies with Dagan, and get more faction rep with no downsides.
If you do not have two accounts. Ask friends to run the SOE arc with you in fleet instead.
If you do not have multiple accounts or friends. Get some. |

ok, that is something useful! I only need it above -5 not to get attacked by Faction Police, I dont care about running missions for Gallente. Will see if I can get some buddies to haul their behinds over there to help me out... Most of them live in null :( Thanx! |

100% sure if you stay for the final mission where you turn Dagan over. I'm 100% sure because I've done this myself. The standing doesn't coming from the mission where you shoot him.
Storyline missions are part of why your standing is tanked I imagine, since storyline missions create a negative in the opposing factions while Epic Arcs don't. |

IIRC the warning tells you that the enemy faction may shoot at you if you go in their space...
Your fault for not reading the warning

I'll go ahead and say it. Yes this is a terrible feature that adds nothing to the game but more grinding. Which is interesting considering the security status for tags deal... but you can't buy faction standings.
I've never had this issue, but I was referred early to eve survival. Yes out of game tools are necessary in eve. That I'm pretty neutral on.
God speed.
P.S. the stealth idea here is remove faction standings because they are useless, unless like above they cause a new player grief.
Edit: as you can see some eve players are dicks. Let's be real, just because I spend the majority of my pathetic excuse for free time on internet spaceships doesn't mean everyone who plays needs to be an obsessive neck beard. |

One of CCPs ground rules for EVE is that every decision you make changes how the world around you works, with the motive being that you must live with your decisions.
I personally like the faction standing. Makes you think before you blow up an opposing factions ships. Hell, I love killing Gallente ships. My standing is pretty crap and they shoot at me if I go into their space but like others have said, get a friend to help you.
Other than that it is really easy to not get shot. Put hostile systems on your avoidance list. |
