Since we have a new booster timer up the top of the screen amongst suspect/criminal/limited combat timers, I thought perhaps we could make use of a polarised timer (the time in which you can not just back through a wormhole.
inb4 trolls claim I didn't search. I did search and only came up with threads discussing the spawn distances.

Polarisation is per wormhole and per direction. Are you sure you want to burried in timers? |

well, it's not often someone would jump both ways through a WH in the same system, so you really shouldn't end up with more than 2 timers displayed at once, if you're moving that fast through wormoles

Um Hyperion and covops frigs and ceptors will disagree with this. It's entirely possible, while scouting crazy chains, to find then BM and then jump far more than two wormholes in the same orig system well before the polarization timer from the first jump out/in ends.

Ah sorry, I didn't clarify the idea.
I mean timers you have within that system only while in that system. So once you change systems, any timers you had to WH's in the system you left will not be displayed |

edit: Or even only display the timers of the Wormhole you're on grid with I see a good intention, but I see 2 problems too:
1) What if the WH collapses? The timer would dissapear, and then you'll instantly know a WH has collapsed, without even having to warp to it. Displaying only timers of WH's your on grid with would solve that, although I'm not sure if that can be done. If it can be done, I'd put a timer right over the WH itself in the same way POS have their "Online" status tag on them, excepting only you can see it and only if you're on grid with it.
2) W-Space is supposed not to throw away information easily. After all, if you want to know your polarization timers, you just have to get close enough to it for a jump to be possible, press the Jump Through button, and then you'll get a popup with the time left of being polarized. That might be too close for cloaking devices, but hey, it's just a sec... Unless you have some "friends" nearby, it's not much of an issue.
That said, the "only on grid" timer idea is not bad. We'll have to discuss whether risking a decloak for knowing your timers is an accetable risk... because it has been that way for much time and no one seems to complain much about it. Yours is a good idea, but I'm not sure if it's needed. |

... Is it needed?
It's asking them to publish the internal clock. It seems like a bit of needless coding.
There needs to be a little bit of uncertainty in w space. Yaay!!!! |
