I was thinking about going for the Amarr Sacrilege, but what is the biggest rats I will be able to go after and mission lvl's. Also if I do go for it what would be a good setup for it?

The Sacrilege is widely regarded as the worst HAC currently in the game.
Use the Zealot, or nothing. Most HACs are capable of doing level 4s (slowly), and ratting anything. They are extremely survivable.. but have issues doing damage.

Should I just skip the HAC and go for BC or BS?

For level 3s you will want, optimally, a Prophecy or if you prefer the smaller ships, a Vengeance/Retribution. Just watch out in the AFs (Assault Ships[frigates])because getting webbed with ruin your weekend.
For level 4s you are going to want a BS for sure. HACs (heavy assault ship[cruiser])can run level 4s, sure, but that's kinda like making a run to the hardware store in your Ferrari.
For belt ratting you can rat upto and above 1.8 mil BS rats in 0.0 in an Amarr AF no prob. Prophecy will have problems in 0.0, you will be able to take on the juicy cruisers and bcs but without support don't bother with killing the BSs. Either Amarr BS will work fine for 0.0 ratting, but for PVE I prefer the Apoc. -------------------

i use a sacrilidge for NPC hunting simply because it alligns to warp faster than a BS.
It will do any spawns really, just kill webbers first and u are sorted.
If u want a challenge u can kill non missile firing NPC up to around 1.8 mill BS using a crusader. :)
I took the sac over the zealot simply because it has a large cargo... less time ferrying loot to station/secure can.
I dont like BS, so i avoid them unless there is no alternative, but it would make sense to use a BS. :)

Edited by: Himo Amasacia on 04/08/2006 13:43:26 I do belt running in 0.0 in my Vexor personally. Its fun and can handle every Battleship + escorts I've come across so far. Actually the only problem I have run across was a group of cruisers and a BC that I ran across the other day. Don't know what was with them but they hit like slegehammers. Thank god for traversal..
Regarding level 4s, I was talking with someone the other day that ran level 4s with a corp mate in a 2 man team. His HAC handled the small stuff while his mate concentrated on the big stuff with his Battleship. Works very well it seemes. I run lev 4s solo in my domi with no problems. I dont fly HACs so I cant comment on that, but I imagine that killing stuff would be a big issue. Some of those rats are fricking hard to kill and do a fair amound of damage, particularly some of the named ones.

I manage to do almost all the level 4's handed to me in a sac with little to no problems. As to running missions in a team, buddy of mine and I run lvl 4's back to back using a BS+Sac combo, and can breeze through any of em fairly easily.

The Sacrilege is fine if you know how to fit it effectively.
Heavy Assault Crusiers are perfectly viable for running missions.
If you'd like to focus more on damage you want to look at the following ships, this side of the HAC family get the best bonuses for damage :
Gallente - Deimos Amarr - Zealot Minmatar - Vagabond Caldari - Cerberus
For Tanking ability go for the other four :
Gallente - Ishtar Amarr - Sacrilege Minmatar - Muninn Caldari - Eagle
You should be able to handle anything up to and including level three with ease in a Zealot, they can put up a good tank while dealing decent damage, especially if you're tanked specifically for the damage types of the NPCS you'll be facing.
I fly a zealot frequently, and like any other HAC you will need at least HAC level 4 and the appropriate T2 gunnery skills to really make use of it, it can be flown T1, with T1 named lasers, however it's more effective to train for the T2.
Hull upgrades and mechanic are also a good sub skilltree to train up so as to improve your tanking ability, along with weapon upgrades and advanced weapon upgrades to help improve your fitting.
As well as that, the armor compentsation skills are excellent to have, I have them to 5 and it's good to have that extra few percent less damage getting through when you're tanked hard. They work excellent when tanking amarr ships.
If you need any more help, drop me an eve-mail in game and i'll be happy to assist.
Hope this helps.
