Edited by: Flaming sambuka on 03/08/2006 15:20:16 highs:
5x medium nos
meds:
1x large shield booster 2x invuln fields
lows:
2x rcu 2's 2x co proc 2's
I know it looks crazy but its not finished yet, im hoping to tinker with it abit so i can change out the meds for the tech 2 versions.
I think itl pwn in gangs as long as sum1 else it doing the tackling, as long as i have cap i should have a pretty decent tank right?
watdaya think?
Edit: to setup

It may work against frigates (no better than any normal Vexor setup) but it sure as hell won't work against anything bigger than that.
Edit: Spelling ftw

Edited by: Twilight Moon on 03/08/2006 15:28:10 Whats wrong with 3x Med NOS and 2x Small Neuts? Chews up peoples cap and you dont have to **** up your med and low slot fittings.
High: 3x Med NOS, 2x Small Neut Meds: AB, Sensor Booster, 20km Scram Lows: Med Repper II, 2x EANM, Damage Control/Nanofiber/Whatever.
I wouldnt say the webber is necessary, as people can't run away from you once you kill their cap. Besides, when I web things my drones seem to miss more often, so I don't bother, they seem to damage more when the target is moving.
...on the other hand using a banana might be a viable alternative.

Doesnt matter, the setup sucks anyway. 2 rcu and 2 cpu's in the lows just so you can cram 5 nos on it? Use a brutix or something instead ffs.
And shield tanking a gallente ship makes me cry...

Shield tanking a Gallente ship can work, although you have to be careful about it.
If you want a VampiVexor with 5x nos in highs the lows should have PDUs in them (Preferably PDU IIs). That gives you grid and boosts your shield quite nicely.
I used to have a quickfit of a vampivexor with 5x nos and lows full of PDU IIs that had an insane tank with large shield booster but the version changes on quickfit have progressed to the point I can't load it up.
I never flew it anyway. The range on med nosses are too short and a smart opponent is going to attack your tacklers anway. Pure drone ships don't gank, they grind, and that gives the opponent time to think. If your opponent is thinking he'll figure out you can't tackle and just take out your tackler frigate and then have his choice of what to do next.

Twilight's setup is perfect for your needs.
Keep in mind that a small neutralizer will zap more cap in the same amount of time than a medium nos, just at a shorter range. I'd personally swap out one nos for another neut and the sensor booster for a cap injector, but both setups will do the job.

Just out of curiosity: Is your skill in Drone Navigation higher than your skill in Drone Sharpshooting? There may be other factors at play, but typically that's the cause of drones having difficulty against webbed targets.

sheild tanking in a Vexxor makes baby jebebus cry. use a mwd and cap injector to get in range. Think NoS domi but smaller and think about the incoming nos nerf.

No, we're just able to spot a godawful setup without stepping into it.
Why is the OP's setup bad? Nos alone on a vampavex won't remove as much cap as a mix of neuts/nos, even more so after the nerf goes through. It can't keep range as it has no speed mod or webber. It can't overneutralise because it has no cap injector.
It's not the shield tank specifically that's bad (that would be refusing to think outside the box), it's what the shield tank takes away from the ship's primary role that is.
