recently ive been in a slasher t1 named fit and just roaming to random low sec/null sec and seeing a trend of nuets
1)will only engage when in gang 2)will run away 3)will fight when they know they can win IE missile inty for example will always engage me. dont know if its my skills as a nub or what. do people fight with chance anymore? slasher vs slasher example, slasher vs rifter without calling for backup
what happened to the days when pvpers had spines(was this ever the case)? I mean the ship and fittings don't even cost 10mil. is there a good place or server to learn ? would the test server be a better place to go to try to learn? that way they don't have to worry about losing 10mill or a kill mail to the board?

Test server is cheap, everything costs 1 isk, but you may find it's even harder to find someone to shoot at.
You might try checking the recruitment forms and get yourself into a corp that does roams. Solo PVP is a rare occupation these days, alts... everywhere.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the ho's and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!' and I'll look down, and whisper 'Hodor'. |

Test server is generally empty, so not a great place to gain much experience.
There are players that will take on virtually any fight, especially 1v1, but a lot of players can be risk averse at times.
Two possibilities:
1. Look at the top pilot lists on zkill and scan down until you find a pilot that primarily solo pvps. Look where they fly and move to that general area. There are several of these pilots around in lowsec
2. Click my sig if you're AU or EU timezone. Anyone that wants to solo through small gang is welcome if we are a good match
3. I'm normally around Ostingele, but roam through GalCal. More than happy to fight anytime you like. Come Win At Eve - Join The Vendunari

If you want to play Faction Battleships Online(TM) with all the autistic regulars then sure.
My best advice would be for you to try Faction Warfare space (Black Rise is a pretty cool place with some pretty cool dudes). Where you will be able to sort of pick your fights with ease.
If you're new to the game, Faction Warfare space contains complexes with acceleration gates. Novice, Small, Medium and Large. And they only allow certain sized ships to enter. Novice = only T1 frigates for example. So set a waypoint through a few active systems and go look for people in Novice complexes (they will be in your overview by default and in your signatures window).
Sure you will run into people with boosts, people baiting for a fleet, or stabbed LP farmers, but it's the perfect place to find decent frigate fights. |

As for Elite, no one is really. Everyone jusy plays as best they can. There are a lot of solo pvpers out there, but space is just big, so they can be hard to find at times. Come Win At Eve - Join The Vendunari

Confirming Black Rise is a good place for soloing.
Small tip: solo means YOU are solo, not necessarily your opponent(s). Make it a mid-term objective to learn how to fight 1v 3 or so, you'll get lots more targets that way.
The basic strategy is breaking up your opponents, for example:
1. You start far away (eg. warping @100), they burn towards you, if you're lucky one of them is faster and dumb and reaches you alone --> blap before his friends catch up
2. Make them chase you around until they decide to split up to trap you; try to get one alone and far from his friends --> blap
It's not easy and you'll die a lot, but it's fun, satisfying and gets you much more fights. Make space glamorous! Is EVE dying or not? Ask the EVE-O Death-o-meter! |

Currently, do not expect much about solo pvp ... It should be a background task to your other Eve activities. As a main focus, it will quickly get very frustrating...
Anyone engaging will do so because they believe they have the edge on you,. This is a game of odds, and they are rarely in favor of the truly solo pvper... Most of the good solo,PVPers have in fact a ton of intel sources, and engineer situations where they force their opponent to commit and make a mistake first...

eve is not a very good single player experience. |

I disagree with that... I agree that it is not a game that provide immediate gratification around combat for solo,players... it does require patience, skills built through trials and dedication to be able to play solo, but you can set your own goal and prosper...
Playing solo can be very fun, and tense at the same time, and is mainly for those that like very challenging odds... playing solo usually means that you have at least two or three accounts though... You won't do much solo with only one account.
If you fit this kind of profile, it is very engaging.... "surrender your ego, be free". innuendo.

I hardly do it anymore, but until 2 years ago or so I used to do solo roams a lot. It was at the time when eve was actually Battlecruiser Online and there were great number of players doing solo roams in nano-canes and such, and it wasn't hard to find decent BC to BC 1v1 in quieter areas without getting blobbed. Un-scouted solo BS roams through low-sec was always a nervy affair too because you could get caught with your pants down in a lot of situations but it gave me thrills (because I enjoy getting caught with my pants down maybe?)
These days it's more cruisers and frigates when people do solo roam. I actually did some solo BC roams last week and although I lost a few BCs doing this, it was interesting because I flew Cyclone and it can tank a small gang and bring down one or two with you before you go down in flames.
You can definitely solo PvP in eve, but just don't expect any sense of 'fair fight' or 'e-honour' or whatever from this game. Just be aware that you are solo because that's what you choose to do, and there are people who make the exact opposite choice to yours and always plan to bring back-up. Neither choice is more correct or better or more glorious than the other. Just different style of play and preferences.
I used to be strictly solo, using no scouts, no links whatsoever. But I never looked down on people who choose to play in their own way, blobbing and whatever.
These days I'm mostly in a gang with recon support+max links+logi+whatever and find this great fun too. There is no one way to fly that is correct. The more different styles you can appreciate, the more you will enjoy this game.

I solo most of the time.
Confirming Black Rise is the place to be, bit less these days after the galmil push for total domination, but you can still find plenty (especially if you're neutral).
Also confirming that "solo" means you're solo, your opponents might not be. Sure, you'll get 1v1, especially if you fly not uber threatening stuff, but you might want to fit your ship to deal with multiple opponents.
Also, soloing in some badass corp home system's might lead to bad surprises, so i'd suggest avoiding those untill you have a solid knowledge of the area and its denizens |

We enjoy doing this.
We find it is the best of both worlds, chocolate with the peanut butter. Sploding loot piniatas in the comfort of hisec without ganking, wardecs or time invested on infiltrations, and you don't have to trade ships tit-for-tat in the losec/null wastelands while you learn basic mechanics.
You can do it solo, or with friends, and its not just chasing interceptors around the block. Pimp juice, pimp juice for everyone. Why, just the other day...
