Hey all,
I've been playing the game off and on since roughly 2003, I take lots of breaks from the game as I enjoy it but it seems if you want to do the exciting stuff that happens in null, eve is more like a second job.
Several years back, I played with a null sec group who wanted all their members to take turns providing protection to their mining ops, not really the kind of thing I'm into.
Is there any particular playstyles and corps/alliances that would suit casual gamers? Either L5 mission running, complex farming, incursions, piracy, wormhole farming etc? I'm looking for something that will return my interest to the game but not require me to spend x hours each day in the game, something I can dip into when I'm feeling up for it. |

No. We all are totally controlled by tight schedules and alarm clocks.
It's a frakking game. Do what you want when you want and where you want. Look around recruitment forums to find suitable corp or advertize yourself. Invalid signature format |

No-one is going to post in GD saying, hey come and join my farming corp, as that is probably going to lead to bad things happening to them.
Also, consider the position of some corp that does have a nice little isk making venture. What have you got to offer them? Might they think you are just an alt or someone that just wants to pop on every now and again and leech off their hard work?
It's all out there you just need to go out and find it. |

My suggestion: AFK pod /shuttle hunting is very casual and a lot of fun. Just logon, take a Trasher and kill autopiloting pods/shuttles at gates. You need zero preparation, the ships are cheap and the killmails are hilarious.

CODE. seems to have a lot of fun (seriously) if you can pull one gank or caper a day I don't think you will feel denied casual enjoyment.
Exploration is also a casual gamer's realm for the most part.
The key that I have observed over the years is Time Zone. When I was doing the Hub Zero thing it was me and just a few people (friends and enemies) combined logging in at the time I played, so targets were scarce and so were allies. Bring back DEEEEP Space! |

GO FW and join a corp. My killboard is a good sign of my activity for my EVE time. Really busy now so I don't have time to join any fleet ops. An alternative version is fly solo in FW but there's NO ONE in AU TZ. Several blue ball roams made me stop solo roaming. |

null sec turned into the most boring place in eve, trust me.. if you want real action and a group that allows casual gameplay/no alarm clocks you should try faction warfare or any other way of low sec pvp http://hugelolcdn.com/i/267520.gif |

lol that sounds like a real elite jewing corp. But if you find yourself a decent one something like this shouldn't be the case and you are completly free on what you do.
PS: Back in the day when I only knew null sec from reading here or on other websites about it I thought you where forced to login on spcific times to patrol the space of your alliance and stuff like this

Back in 2012 I decided to really push EVE to the level of a job, as I don't actually have to work much anyway ...
... so I started ganking all day.
Every day.
For months.
While also being active in local.
Only broken by sleep and a few hours of work. (really not much)
Eventually I suffered a serious burnout from all the wasted time of my life I had to wait for GCC ... up to a point that even one year later ... ... when I ganked something and got GCC ... ... it was completely demotivating. lol
So, whoever wants to push EVE into being a job ... ... better makes it ******* count! Yes the "give me your money so I free from the burden of this sin" routine.
And to be on topic. OP should find an FW corp/alliance. |

I feel the same. I've played since 2005 but I can't always put time into it because I ahve a very busy RL job and a family. I need to be able to play when I want, not when I must.
I recently joined Brave Newbies with a couple of my characters. Theyr'e in Nullsec. I can FC casually when I have time and whenever I log on I can find content in minutes. Because I FC I can also control how much time I spend on the game. I can run an op for 2 -1/2 hours and it doesn't turn into 6 hours (it's amazing how many FC's have ZERO feeling for time management).
Brave are not world class in terms of doctrines and we can prettty much thank our continued existence to the fact that we are in a crappy bit of space in terms of logistics and offer content to the neighbours as much as they offer it to us.
For my play style this seems like a good fit for now. I can log on when I have time. I can do pretty much whatever I want when I'm online and they're in a busy pipe that makes finding content a question of getting in a ship and undocking.
Worth a look for you, maybe./

I totally get what you seek. I, too am in the same boat. Real life keeps me away from the game. Unfortunatley Eve is catered to those larger corps and alliances who can dedicate a lot of time. If you're looking for a game where you can log on for an hour or two a few times a week and feel fulfilled, immersed and have enough resources to be accomplished.... Then EVE isn't the game for you.
