Just logon, take a Trasher and kill autopiloting pods/shuttles at gates. You need zero preparation, the ships are cheap and the killmails are hilarious. Here is how it's done: http://www.minerbumping.com/2014/01/thrasing-and-vexing.html Hilarious. Eventually even hacking paint and giggling gets old. True, but it's fun for a while and if it get's old you just blap other stuff or do something else. The important thing is that you have fun doing it and it does not start to feel like a job, except if that's what you are looking for. OR...one could seek therapy. I understand it's free these days... if one is a bad enough case.
Many who play EVE, myself included, find it very therapeutic, especially when you're causing others to explode. GÇ£Some capsuleers claim that ECM is 'dishonorable' and 'unfair'. Jam those ones first, and kill them last.GÇ¥ - Jirai 'Fatal' Laitanen, Pithum Nullifier Training Manual c. YC104 |

The forums though are seriously everything else but that ... ... and with increasing disconnectedness, people don't even realise. Meta Portrait: umm, looks like youre 'busy', young love, sexual and sensual, soft&warm, OMG naked???, are you kissin or blo..., so much feels, most sexually suggestive pic I've seen. I make it feel real... Dear you-know-who. Don't force me to spread out my mail APIkey and chatlogs. Get off my back already. Thanks. :) |

Eve is proof that even in the future you can have a ****, low paying job, where nobody appreciates you. CTRL+SPACE, just in case http://caismanseve.blogspot.co.uk |

I've been playing the game off and on since roughly 2003, I take lots of breaks from the game as I enjoy it but it seems if you want to do the exciting stuff that happens in null, eve is more like a second job.
Several years back, I played with a null sec group who wanted all their members to take turns providing protection to their mining ops, not really the kind of thing I'm into.
Is there any particular playstyles and corps/alliances that would suit casual gamers? Either L5 mission running, complex farming, incursions, piracy, wormhole farming etc? I'm looking for something that will return my interest to the game but not require me to spend x hours each day in the game, something I can dip into when I'm feeling up for it.
Corde Enforcement works very well for casual play. I can log on, grab a quick suicide gank or spend some times bumping miners off asteroids, then go do something else. |

EVE's hard for me to play casual. Either 100% and got a plan to work on, or "I just lost my ass again because didn't research and optimize after the last PVP or PVE rebalance." I just expect not to have anything close to the edge in either PVP or PVE, and venture out suitably whelpicidal.... "Were [sic] not your monkey and so what?"-á -The Sex Pistols (2006) |

It also provides a nice reason to fly around and look at what people are doing and interact with them, which is nice when you reach the stage where you make more ISK by not undocking. FW provides this too, but FW is more or less gate-to-gate until you find a fight. You get to see interesting things when inspecting permits. [witty image] - Stream |

Thanks for the replies folks, from what I'm reading, it seems FW is what most folks recommend for casual, I also came to that conclusion roughly a year ago when I dipped my feet into FW, it was fun at first until it became obvious that my lack of experience at PvP was severely limiting my ability. I might see if there's some FW corps for the opportunity to play with a group and improve my PvP skills. |
