Looking at your website i see its from 9th-11th of Nov, yet the prelimunary package with Iceland air from the UK only flies you out at the end of the 9th (so unless nothing goes on, on the 9th you miss a day).
Would it be possible to arrange packages where you fly in on the 8th and depart on 12th (4 nights). For those who want to not come in late and leave early? :p
Or do we have to book ourselves? (im lazy and dunno if i cba using more than 1 website :p) ---------------

I believe the festivities commence on the evening of the 9th. I've booked my trip to fly in on the 9th for three nights although if that assumption is wrong, I'll be cancelling and rebooking for 4 nights

Its good to see its not only me who are impatient regarding the fanfest! I have also booked hotelroom from 8th to 12th of november. Could not wait any longer for those packages
My airplane leaves Oslo at 14:05 norwegian time at the 8th, and I will be flying out of Keflavik on the 12th at 17:00 Iceland time. And my seat number is 19F both ways, so you all know that
I hope to see a lot of you that wednesday evening/night at the hotell bar!

Edited by: Hakera on 05/08/2006 18:15:21 would be a pain in the arse for me, seems not one flight I can connect to properly without an overnight stay in london or manchester.
On the plus side the gatwick to iceland flight is only ú78 return when i checked a few minutes ago for BA but sets of at an ungodly hour for me. Hotel wise I could get quotes of ú160 for 4 nights at Hotel Bjork (lets hope she isnt singing there)
Excluding my unfortunate location and need to connect to gatwick the night before with overnight stay, anyone in london could book via BA and cheap hotel for ú240 for 9th -> 13th November. Strangely I could get a cheaper room at the nordica via hotel.com then I could get on the nordica's own site lol.

Edited by: Dulmer on 05/08/2006 23:56:01 I just checked, and standard 2 nights means you would miss all the stuff happening on saturday ...
3 nights is ú 469 at the nordica hotel. of course that doesn`t include price of the actual evefest ticket. Looks like I`ll have to do some overtime at work

Proper UK packages would be nice... I'm probably going this year, so well... Would like to actually have that option without having to make about 500 different arrangements --------

If you're in the UK and want to save a bit of money you can fly with BA and stay in another hotel nearby, but remember that the BA flight going to depart at something like 7am and returns 23:55. Also, you would probably then have to get a taxi or a bus to the Nordica where the fanfest itself is. Depending on where you stay, the taxi could be quite expensive.
Since this is my only holiday this year, luckily I can afford to just fly icelandair at a convenient time and stay at the Nordica, which saves me a lot of hassle
For anyone travelling from the UK, I'll be on the Icelandair 13:00 flight on 09/11/06 and the 16:30 return flight on 12/11/06, so let's have a pint in the airport lounge before we board!

The times I got were:
Quote:
Depart:
BA2650Gatwick (London),United Kingdom -> Keflavik (Reykjavik),Iceland Thu 9 November 2006 ,08:20 -> Thu 9 November 2006 , 11:25
Return:
BA2651Keflavik (Reykjavik),Iceland -> Gatwick (London),United Kingdom Mon 13 November 2006 ,12:25 -> Mon 13 November 2006 , 15:30
fairly decent times for anyone who doesnt need to connect like me and doesnt mind being up at the ***** of dawn. For ú78 compared to ú100 on icelandair flying from heathrow.
The 3 star hotels were around ú40, Nordica was ú78 a night but i did find other 4 stars at ú56 still within the city centre.

Edited by: Dulmer on 06/08/2006 23:02:15 As I noticed in the Icelandair deal its ú10 to get from airport to hotel in their Flybus addon each way. If I used BA they don`t have a similar add-on.
How cheap is it to get from the Airport to the Nordica Hotel ?

My reservation for the room included breakfast, but not dinner. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but you can guarantee being a 4 star that it won't be the most wallet friendly meal. Since the Nordica runs complimentary shuttles into town I was planning on finding a pizza parlour

The Nordica has a Pizza Hut right there too. The restaurant is as good as it is expensive.
The quality of the restaurants in Reykjavik is really good. Downtown is about 20-25 minutes away when you take the walk. You can't really get lost in Reykjavik. The town's easy to navigate.
There is a bus station right in front of the Nordica. Public transport is dirt cheap.
All Icelandair packages have NOT been finalized! --*=*=*--

Well they may not be finalised ... But I wouldn`t want to wait and miss out on the flight or hotel, as there is only a finate number of places on ze plane ...
Wystler, I think I`ll meet ya in the airport :) as I`ve seem to have chosen same starting flight.
