Now, as I see it, you can only play locations to outer regions that you control.
However, there are some things you play, which have bad effects, meaning you'd have to do it to yourself?
Also, for things like crok, which you sacrifice to do 3 dmg to target ship, this ability is usable in combat right? Otherwise I see no logical use for the ability.

Actually in the rules it says you can play a location ANYWHERE, whether you control it or not.

Ah right, which brings me to my next question, can you double sacrifice?
That means this:
I have crokite in play. I play scordite, and have to sacrifice a location.
Can I sacrifice the crokite card for scord AND do the crok's dmg?
If so would that only be possible if I control the region, thus making it pointless, or would I be able to sac my crok card, that is in a region someone took over?

Nope. When the Scordite resolves you sacrifice Crokite to it, and then when you wanna use Crokite's special ability, it's no longer there. Or the other way around.
When you sacrifice a card it goes to the scrapheap as part of the cost for something (either Scordite or Crokite this time). It doesn't stay in play waiting for the effect to resolve. And you can't do 2 things at exactly the same time.

From the rules:
"You may only sacrifice a card that is in play and is controlled by you, and only when a card or an ability permits you to do so. A sacrificed card goes to the ownerĘs scrapheap, as if it has been destroyed. If an ability tells you to sacrifice a card, you choose which card to sacrifice unless stated otherwise."
So only sacrifice it if its under your control.

So if someone is attacking you then you can sacrifice crokite as part of your defence. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This could make some fun :)
Opponent controls a region with a small swarm of frig defenders and a nice number of locations, drop a mercoxit there and watch the defenders go *bzzt!*

I'd hope you're not suppose to be able to play locations in someone else's homebase.
Also, with Sansha's Outpost, the way I read it is you can play it, and if other locations are there already, thats ok, but if you add a location AFTER the outpost, it goes away.
This is how you guys all read it too, right?
