GRRR GOONS !
beyond some authors trying to fix null, i dont even see how goons are even relevant anymore. it seems to mee, with the exception of a few publiciy stunts, gooms havent been doing much the past years. whichis sad, as they used to be such potent content generators. people dont even hate goons like they used to. hate has been replaced with apathy. which is also sad, because hate is fun to read. Unlike so many other 'provi graduates' I never threw Provi under the bus when I left. It's a core foundation in EVE.

For me, it would have to be Cannibal Kane and corbexx. Both of these players (at different times) helped me lots in deciding where I want to be in Eve.
Cannibal helped me know that I wanted PvP and he gave me a lot of items when I first started (I simply happened to be in the right starter system at the right time). He also explained how PvP worked and why it was fun for him.
Corbexx took the time to sit down with me and explain wormholes (this was before he was even a CSM candidate). He helped me understand a fair bit about how wormholes worked and I knew that this was were I wanted to be.
They're my personal ones though.
For less personal ones:
Chribba and, as much as I hate to say it, The Mittani. Everyone needs the bad guy (or good depending on the way you look at it). The creators of WH mapping tools such as Siggy, Tripwire and wormhol.es.

This. The problem is that it's only the hardcore and the famous that gets their voices heard.
If the masses would have gotten the right to vote we'd have a bigger EVE today with Incarna and other wild projects that would have opened up EVE to alot of players who prefer to have avatar based interaction for example.
But no, basement dwellers that play 18 hours a day are the ones that gets their voices heard and that's not healthy for EVE, not healthy at all.
In my opinion, we should lose the hardcore players. |

No, you are absolutely wrong. Why? Because the majority of the players in 95% of all games are casual players which means that in order to get more subscribers you need to adapt your game after those settings.
Hardcore players only bring drama, and butthurt feelings because CCP isn't creating the game that THEY want to see. Unfortunately they are less than 10%. |
