(And, yes, I do mean my tom collinses.)
So, I keep running across a few irritating things that I'd like fixes for. I feel like the little things thread sort of hasn't been well kept up with.
Then again, maybe this will turn into a 'TIL' thread. :)
1) Switch Ammo x Power Slot - when the current action activation is complete, reload to different ammo/scripts/charges/etc.
- When clicked, if there are no other ammo of the right type available, remove current ammo. (HIC bubble mostly)
- When clicked, if there is only one other valid (ammo) type available, load that one (so, trade)
- If there are multiple (or three states, like a SEBO which can have scripts or nothing), on button-down, pop up a list sorted by name, then while button is done, use 1-8 to select the different ammo types (including None).
- So, let's say you want to reload your guns with Navy Nova Rockets, you press and hold the, say, R key (the menu pops up) then press 3. Gun goes red, begins reloading next cycle.
- If you wanted to be fancy, you could also activate it automatically after it loads (if auto-cycle is enabled)
2) In Probe scan mode, make ZXY(or ZXC) be lock direction of mouse movement to X only, Y only, or Z only, rather than have to click a little tiny thing and drag in just the right way. Pushing two: ZX, allows you to move left and right and forward and back. XY would be left-right and up, down.
3) Single-key overload of a pre-defined set of modules that might be a mix of slots So, I configure the 'G' key, for gank, to overload all my weapons and my afterburner. Or, I configure my 'P' key, for panic, to overloads my defenses
4) Toggle no-chat mode - On enable: make the chat windows inputs and popups go inactive. All keys are for commands, no chances of doing ssswsqqqqq in a chat window. I'd put this to caps lock, so that if it's on, I won't be YELLING IN LOCAL LIKE A TOTAL JERK.
5) More responsive keyboard commands. I shouldn't have to press and click the same things multiple times. It's something to do with keydown-keyup detection, I think. Maybe it's intended to be a safety feature, but in the context of #3, it should just be turned off.
6) Pulse x power slot overheat: like toggle auto-reload, do one overheat cycle and go red. The flip side is to add a 'toggle auto-overheat', like 'toggle autoreload', but I prefer to have the choice of one or many cycles at the beginning.
7) Actually, a Pulse x power slot: don't need to auto-goggle off, just does one with no autotoggle. Mostly for MWD, can also be used for alpha.
7) Pre-targetting. For every unused target slot, you can have a pre-targetted item (doesn't show up with damage for instance, but maybe permit other context things) that you can't "target" because it's too far away or invuln. It permits you to select the next thing to target when you are able to, as opposed to seeing a ridiculous message and having do it again. It does a slightly more subdued graphic with a bit of different audio. If you try to pre-target more than the slots you have, it works like a FIFO. If you lock another target, you remove the oldest pre-target slot.
8) Mouse-over mode binding: so, when you click a keyboard key, it will activate the thing under the keyboard.
9) "Jump through to" on bridges blopsbs and titans and jump bridges should show up in their selected item view (where orbit, approach, etc) show up. |
