Well, we all know that the days are numbered for world's collide in empire. Soon the mission ships out to low-sec only. Brought up an interesting question to me though, does that mean (1) you can only get world's collide from low sec agents, or (2) that if you are in empire next door to low sec you can get the mission from that agent in the 0.4 system? Although I don't know for sure it seems to me that (sadly) the first option sounds the most likely.

That's because currently the change has not been made. I'm more curious for future planning with agent running because I know this change will be made with a patch in Kali if not before. I'm unclear about this future change being low sec agents only or if you can get it from a high sec agent next door to low sec.

To be honest, I fail to see what's so special about this mission that it has to be moved to low-sec. If it's only because it's "farmable" then that's a silly reason.

Low sec people whining about how lucrative it is in high sec I guess. Stupid since its much more lucrative in low sec then high sec.

Exactly. The "lack" of risk of high-sec missions is ballanced by the much higher pay (LPs and ISKs) from low sec. Why change this ?

Well not to take this topic too far off the topic of my OP, but I read a thread about the mission and Zrakor logged on to mention the change. No link, it's a very old thread that I can't remember the name of. As evidenced by the off topic discussion above, I'm not the only one who knows about the change.

If they do this it would really stink. This was the only really challenging level 1 mission I have run across and it rocked. PLEASE DEVS DO NOT DO THIS!

This is what I see happenning. Move all lvl IV agents to lowsec. Bunch of people in .4's running missions. Pirate corps either moves or forms up in that area, completely shutting the system down to mission runners. Then the pirate corp allows people to run lvl IV missions for a fee (to not be blown up). In the mean time, they farm the missions for themselves.
I mean come on how hard would it be? You figure that 80% of the caldar missions are against guristas. So the pies fit to do EM/Therm/Ballistic Damage and to resist kinetic. They either attack at the station as people warp in, or launch probes and scan people out as they run their hour long mission. Then dude in his Gisti Raven gets popped in the second room of his mission by 5 pies. Hmmmm ya gonna have to think of an alternative to just moving them all to lowsec. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Win a Cynabal for 10ml!!! |

hmm.. so lemme chk if i got it right: pirates are the cool guys who work together to shut down a sys and kill ppl, while the agent runners are egoistic ***** who get killed one by one cuz they are not able to band together and kick the pirates¦ ass in their gist-ravens?

It may be because WC is one of the missions that can spawn officer NPCs (Dread Guristas etc.) ... the loot they drop is equally valuable in any sec. ________________________________________________

If they really dont want the high-sec version to spawn officers (which are so damn rare) then they can either remove them or make them eveen rare. I personally don't care, that's not why I do that mission. I do it because it's fun, it's different, it's a bit more challenging. It's also great to take a younger member of your corp to this mission and show them the ropes of level 4's. Why ruin that ? I really hope CCP will reconsider.

I don't know why they don't want it in high-sec - this is merely a theory. I do know, from what Zrakor posted a while back, that this is not a change so much as a correction - Worlds Collide never WAS supposed to be available in 0.5 and up. It was wrongly coded in the beginning. ________________________________________________

Not that big of deal. It's next to impossible to get killed in lvl 4's if you stay alligned and aware. Just warp out as soon as someone warps in and wait a bit to do another msn.

LOL - its not that easy because pirats will know what systems are good for. And if you try a WC lvl4 with a pvp setting you need a hell more of time.

You don't need a pvp setup - just stay alligned with something (preferably an insta station or safespot) and be ready to warp as soon as you see anyone enter your area.

Not going to work. In any system with a decent agent you'll have legions of people in and out of the system. You won't know who's friendly and not so you'll spend all the time warping out 'just in case'. Even mission runners can be opportunistic pirates too. __

I'd like to add that as a penalty for warping out, Chowdown recieved a /heal0 from the devs, and his ship promptly exploded.

a very good point was brought up earlier -- this is a bug that's getting fixed.
For those of you who do the minmatar WC .... can a high sec agent hand out this mission in a next door low sec system, or can it only come from a low sec agent in a low sec system? This is the point I wanted an answer for from this thread instead of the discussion of the merits of the decision.

Some missions (such as World's Collide and Intercept The Saboteurs) are only spawned in the system where the agent resides. As WC should only be offered by agents in < 0.5 security systems this means that, when 'fixed', you will only be able to get and run WC in such systems.

I have never understood CCP obsessive need to nerf missions, and frankly moving WC to low sec is a good way for low sec pirates to farm it or cause problems for mission runners, aha!! A pattern is born...If you(CCP) are going to move some of the better missions to low sec , do me, well do all mission runners a favor and open up lvl 5's. My corp is just itching to get some good missions, considering all thier favorites are being nerfed....

I think you are correct because I can only remember wc being in the same system as the agent, so then the answer is self-obvious like you said. Thanks for reminding me. Should be interesting, I always preferred 0.0 or empire to low-sec, but we shall see
