Not the fastest, but my best ride was in a friend's dad's old MG.. 3am, summer night, roof down, empty motorway, and an engine that roars like a jet plane.
I didn't know whether to throw my head back and cackle with glee or hang on for dear life really

Good lord
Fastest car I've been in is probably mine. Stock, bottom-of-the-line Ford KA that I bought for ú5,500 - indicated 119MPH on a stretch of the M1 with minimal traffic/policing. ----------------------------------------------- CRY HAVOC! Fastest I have driven would be my dad's old 1970 Pontiac Tempest. I had it up to 160mph on the highway, which was both highly illegal and dangerous, as the highway is not straight nor smooth, and I was on a 30 year old General Motors stock suspension and steering. Could of went faster.

Car.... "Worked" supra. I have no idea what had been done exactly, i could throw some bones around and take a guess but it'd be hazardous at best. The dyno sheet from the glovebox rated it at 880bhp so she was expensive/time consuming. Car came from an import yard next door to where i lived at the time, I asked the guy in the yard if i could have a drive (hey, can't do much but try yeah?), to which he replied no, but i'll take you. Local highway, 301kp/h. Only hairy moment came at 4th gear when he poked it a little hard dropping the clutch (from 3rd) and it smoked the rears a little. Would of made it much further, but the highways in the area really aren't suitable for winding something like that out.
Bike. Owned - R6. 277kp/h was the best i ever saw on my own bike. The 600's make it to 200-220 nice and quick, run out of oomph a little after that, thankfully where i live now there's a nice motorway just south of me with ample room to let it run. Ridden - R1(mild tuneing) 307kp/h. World of difference. Next bike I own will be one of these for sure (will keep me a little more honest than the 6 :D).
Had a few other cars and bikes in the middle but those are the memorable ones :) **** Where's the problem? It's called natural selection - The bottom of the ****ing food chain. -Denis Leary |

I gotta admit, on top of all the exotic supercars I've driven (see OP), I still dream of a badass souped-up Supra...
I've been in a 970HP HKS-version once, and MAAAN!!! That sucker smokes anything!

Well, the fastest and most scariest thing i ever drove was my Yamaha YZF-R1 racing build. It had 173 horse powers while weighing 195kg including fuel. On the old "Hockenheim" racetrack it did 321 km/h in the speedtrap. Believe me, even a broad racetrack melts to a narrow path at this speed .... CEO PAX Interstellar Proud Member of -V-

now are u asking what the fastest car i've been in is? or the fastest i've been in a car?
question 1) my dad built racing cars so the fastest car i've been in was a reneut hill climber/rally car, converted for track, was a passenger in it and he took it to about 80mph (it did 210 but i was 13 at the time and my dad was terrified of me getting broken as the car had been rebuilt 4 times where something had gone bang either spontaniously or bang as it hit the tire wall...) and i've sat in a Lamborghini Diablo but only while it was on show <sigh>
question 2) depressingly my car is a fiat uno 999cc from 1980, and considering my car before tat was a landrover series2 from 1957 with a top speed of about 19mph i am going up in the world. but in my fiat i got a stunning 93mph out of it going downhill on the dual carrigeway, i still swear i could have got 100 out of her if my mum (who was teaching me at the time) threatened to pull the handbrake unles i slowed up. ( yes i am still learning, but this goddam alfa sneered at me at the lights)
the funniest fast car i ever saw, was a friend of my dads who took an alfa engine and put it in a mini, and thrashed the porsches off the lights for no better reason than the looks on their faces. tho unfortuatly i never ad the pleasure of riding in that one.
my dream car still stands as a Lamborghini Diablo in metalic purple ( yes i am a RL girl, not just creepy) but tbh i'd be happy with a car that ran from a to b that fitted the kids in, and then a honda superblackbird 1100cc in metalic blue with matching wheels to play with :)

The airport-shuttle bus during my last holiday in Turkey. I was holding the dustbin bucket in front of my son all the way in case he may vomit because we all looked pretty pale/green in the face.

Talking about my own driving experiences, got that nice piece of pink paper( yes it's pink in the Netherlands, a good reason for Eris to get one) since march '05. Fastest car i've ever been in was a chrysler 300c on the german Autobahn, before my father decided not to get one because he couldn't see a single traffic light in that car. Fastest I've ever driven myself was 180km/h( 112mph) on the speed indicator in my Rover 420, which I believe should be able to go 200km/h( 125mph), really need to test that on the Autobahn one day.
EDIT: no matter what the TopGear guys says, Rovers are good cars, otherwise TopGear FTW

I know this is probably cheating but I have been in the passenger seat of a Kronos Xsara driven by Sebastien Loeb. The man is really awesome. I am sure he see's things before they happen. Didn't get up to much speed tho as it was round a show circuit. Almost made me sick tho with the way the car was turning.
Fastest road car I have ever been in was the TVR Cerbera 12. didn't get above the speed limit tho.

Pretty quick for a Chevette though. My mum use to have a horrible brown Chevette. I think she managed to get 71 mph out of it once. Down hill with a tail wind.

I must say, the fastest I ever drove myself, was on the freeway, testing out my new taxi (I drive taxi during the weekends).
A Mercedes E 420CDi can push it, I promise you that
As a passenger, the fastest I drove on public road as co-driver was 260km/h (157mph). Unfortunately, one of those large, eatable birds (not a turkey, smaller), ran out on front of the car, and CLONK!! We were pretty sure that it's legs remained on the road behind us, smoking! The Turbo-intake had cut the poor bird in half, guts hanging down the front of the car
The car was a 1992 Lotus Esprit Turbo SE btw

most insane (read:fastest, death defying, physics defying, etc) car ride was with a friend up in mountain roads when I visited Japan, he was driving a white RX-7 FD (why i know the car? I like fast cars XD, I play arcade racers just for burning rubber, but I'd NEVER drive like that IRL ).
Japanese are insane, they drive their cars on roads only big enough for a whole car and a half... SIDEWAYS
Now I both fear and love mountain drift racing XD -

Not as impressive as some, but...
Fastest I've ever been - 1979ish Rover SD1 3500, the one with the V8. 135mph was tops.
Fastest car I was ever in - Daimler Double Six (the slightly more luxurious Jaguar XJ12, with 5.3 litres). I was test driving it - was taken by surprise as the kickdown hit, accelerated from 40 to 100 before I could take my foot off the gas, all the air hissed out of the seat. Scary!
I took a look under the bonnet of this monster. Quad carbs, and all the pipework for it - couldn't see the ground through the machinery, in a car with a 6-foot bonnet.
I nearly bought it (it was old, so cheap) until I found out a new engine would cost as much as the car. ---------------------------------------------- "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent." ---------------------------------------------- |

Yeah, the old Jag's are crazy. Amazingly comfortable, and the engine looks very astonashing...but it's actually a mechanics nightmare! It's nothing but fragile parts and poor cabling!

Celica upto 150 on the M45. The dual carriage way has no exits so its about the safest bit of straight road in the uk. Nothing unexpected is likely to happen.
Current car is much slower. But managed to get from Bridlington to Bracknell with a petrol stop in 3 hrs 25 mins.

It's just like the bike motors too, can do 10k rpm all day long (but accessory belt must be off)
