**ships and mods channel did'nt reply let alone look** This might sound a bit strange, but im new and I need to know what do you think I should get, like ships and mods.
Im a 4 day old player but I played a bit it about 4 months ago when I didnt have cash ... but now I got a stronger income so i think im going yo play eve cause its a drug (class A )
Anyway back to the point ...
I have currently a - bantam - ibis - shuttle (remember im new) Im caldari as u might of guessed. I need some help on what ships and mods i need ... could you guys help ? Im thinking that an osprey might be quite good for some mining until I got enough ISK for a okay cruiser or something in that price range but i dont have a clue about what mods I need
Can you assist ?

Linkage
Also as to what ship, it depends on what you want to do. If you want to mine then yeah use an osprey until you get more isk to buy a barge.
If you are more of a combat type then don't waste your time and effort on mining. Run a buttload of missions you'll get isk plus loyalty points that can be later used to receive itmes from your agent.

Work your way up to a kestrel or merlin, depending if you wanna do rails or missiles.. which ever is your choice, the both have advantages and disadvantages.
Missiles do the same dmg over any distance and don't require tracking, but the smaller and faster the target the less dmg you do. Also, the further you are away, long it takes to start doing dmg.
Rails do instant dmg at what ever range they are at, but at closer range it's harder for them to track and hence they do less dmg.
If I were you, I would train a couple lvls in rails and a couple lvls in missile, try both and decide what you like. To get a feel for it, start running lvl 1 missions.
Have fun

I don't mine, or play caldari, but I woud suggest to train for a Kestrel. Obviously this would be the belt ratting/missioning approach. Kestrel is pretty easy to fit with rockets. Also put a shield booster and afterburner on it. How many ever ballistic controls you can fit, likely only 1 for you so the other spot I would put in a nano. On the third mid-slot I don't know what you would put, possibly a webber or a small shield extender.
Also this topic probably belongs in the New Citizens Q&A...

To be honest, I'd go rat in a .5 till you meet an older player that is willing to take you into lowsec to rat. Go in with no worries, get half of some big bounties, have fun, get podded. Doing that straight out of the box will make you accept it easier the next time it happens.
Kestrel, Merlin -> Drones/Missiles/Engineering/etc. -> Caracal -> Ferox
What I'm doing (now that I'm at Ferox) Gallente up to cruiser IV, that way I can fly Ferox, and Brutix, vexor, thorax, etc. T2 drones ftw!
