Hey! I feel like sharing something.
So a few weeks ago I decided I'm fed up. With 5 active accounts I had, I didn't enjoy the game anymore. The immersion and fun were gone. I had a dread, carrier..all that stuff. Not a supercap tho.
I hated being the corp logistics guy, I hated being online at certain time only because the corp needed me. I realized I don't need the corp, I don't need the capitals, I dont need the characters.
I sold all my chars except one... and I'm having a blast again!
I kept the character I liked the most. Not the best toon ever, he doesn't have any capital skills, but it's a pretty fine subcap pilot all around...and I have loads, loads of isk from selling the rest of the toons and ships.
I quit my corp and joined a small minmatar fw corp.
Having a cool minmatar dude and fighting dirty caldari and amarr scrubs is just awesome. No stress, no drama, log in and log out when I want..and I find people in FW much, much friendlier than in my old 0.0 corp. Which is just amazing.
It just feels like people in low aren't as active as they were a few years ago..there's surely less activity in fw and small pirate corps around lowsec.
A guy with about 2m sp from our corp asked me if he's too late to the game. I told him being new to eve is the best eve experience you can get. Blasting fw guys in a rifter is one of the best things I've ever done in eve :)
And having more than 100b in the wallet is pretty handy, too. I sent the newbie guy a bil and he was like the happiest person in eve. I loved that.
So, what's my message? Sell your titans, supercaps and get your frigs and cruisers to lowsec. We need much more people to fight in here

Not as grizzled as you my friend, but recently I decided to go back and fit out a "Battle" Velator and an Atron and see how many missions I could get through. Lots of fun. Now trying Level 4 missions in my "Battle" Procurer. Still alive and kicking! To many options in EVE not to have fun. Can I has 1b?
Overall I do agree with the sentiment; being your own boss does have some pretty interesting advantages.. Especially when you have some dosh to blow up. |

I just sold my PvP main, biomassed a few other less skilled characters, and rolled a new PvP main. Its fun being a newbro again, but knowing what I know and having some isk in the bank. www.everevolutionaryfront.blogspot.com

So, do you need 100B in the wallet to have 5 active accounts or do you need 5 active accounts to have 100B in the wallet? Just wondering because that's still a pipe dream for my casual ass. I agree, though: harmony in simplicity. |

I think he's saying he made 100b from selling his characters, which isn't unreasonable if you've been playing a few years. www.everevolutionaryfront.blogspot.com

The people I've talked to who got burnt out running multiple accounts tended to have multiple characters training the same thing. I run three accounts, and from the get-go I made a conscious decision to keep the characters on these accounts on separate training paths so that they didn't get redundant. Obviously, basics like fitting, navigation, drones, etc. have to be trained across all of them, but having three distinct "roles" has kept things very interesting for me.
Bronson is my "main" character is is mostly combat focused, but with decent mining skills. I have a trade/research/CEO character, a CovOps/Orca/refining character, a dedicated mining/PI character, and a few others. The other benefit of this is that if I go off to PvP for with Bronson, I can leave my non-combat characters behind to do their thing (although at least one character on each account is at least somewhat combat capable). John Goodman Junior wrote:FW ..... no drama
Are you even playing the same game as the rest of us? FW has the densest population of man-babies and spergs anywhere in EVE (Okay... renters top FW in that aspect, but still..).
If you're ever bored, try awoxing a few "allies", grab the popcorn, and watch the hilarious self proclaimed "diplos" throw ***** fits at each other. Hell, you might even create some interesting content while you're at it. |

OP: I feel you, man. "You'll find the having is not as nice as the wanting." -Spock-
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. When the T3 cruisers came out you could just tell the folks bouncing around in the big ships were having a ball flying the little suckers. "Once they've seen Paris, how will we get them back on the farm?"
Simplify. Let the other guy get bogged down in complication. Let the other guy try to use Jaeger to mask the bone crushing angst, and the bravado to hide the little voice inside screaming, "Stop with the macho crap already!"
Rifter. First best. Always best. Anyone with any sense has already left town. |

I definitely don't feel like biomassing and starting a new character, but last time I played I had 3 accounts. I mostly had this guy, a scount/lvl 4 helper, and a 3rd characters in a private corp doing small time industrial stuff. I started playing again earlier this year I decided to only have this one account, and despite the higher difficulty of doing everything with only 1 account, I am finding things much more enjoable this time. |

I knew this beforehand. Altism and buying characters are the death knell to immersion.
Only had this character and a menial utility char on the same account with a few mil SP.
I've been playing for over 2 years but even when I'm fed up, I always come back to it. |
