When playing this afternoon i wanted to use damage Control to destroy a new while it was beeing played.
Damage control says: destroy target news or retrieve news from...
IS targetting a news card on the event pile a legal target ? or can i onyl destroy news that is already in play ?

It seems that EVE-CCG consideres the card as having a type even when its beeing played, so my guess is: Yes, you can destroy it as its beeing played.

I dont think that Eve-CCG does consider a card to have a type as it is being played, but again, we can't be sure either way at this point.
However, due to the pile rule, after a card is played, but before it resolves, it now does have a card type. It is essentially in play but not yet having an effect, as far as I can figure it. At this point, it can be affected by cards that affect a specific card type.

It should check for type. Compare to Magic, where there are plenty of cards that counters specific card types (Counter target blue spell, Counter target enchantment spell, etc.)
Compare with the ruling I linked to 2 posts above this. |

It does. If you play a hired enforcers, I can counter it with mind control before it gets into play.
