Hi all,
I did petition on this matter but I wanted to see if this happened to anybody else.
A couple days ago I was flying a Rattlesnake through the Serpentis side of this mission. Caught full room aggro so tried to warp out, but the game behaved if I was pointed, even though I had no indication to that effect! None of the rats had me pointed. My poor ship held out for a good 10 minutes, soaking up over 200,000 damage before dying in a glorious fashion. Embarassing, I haven't had a rat loss in 7 years.
Has this happened to anyone else? Did CCP sneak in an invisible warp bubble or something? |

NPCs don't scramble, so why didn't you use your MJD to get far enough away for a warp out? |

I didn't fit one, and since when was there an AoE scramble in mission sites? |

The effect is a disruption, not scrambling, despite the name that gets displayed. And that's beside the point. Without further information, I have to assume you just misclicked and tried to warp to something that can't be warped to. (Some deadspace pockets don't allow warping inside, so if you panicked and tried to warp to a structure more then 150km from you instead to a target outside the pocket, it won't work.)
Hopefully you learned from this experience and won't forget your MJD in the future. |

You most likely got stuck on an object and it was not allowing you to align. If you did not see the warp disruption symbol this is most likely what happened. If it takes you longer to align than normal and are not disrupted, you have to cancel warp and move away from the object you get stuck on then re-initiate warp. I had the message "Environmental effects are preventing you from initiating warp." and yet no scramble/disrupt symbol either above my cap, or on overview... |

that looks like a attempt to initiate warp between 2 points inside deadspace pocket. can't do it. |

IMHO any fit under heavy sensor damping can have a problem with clearing Serpentis rats. Thats why Serpentis blockade can not be blitzed, for example. You can not start clear the pocket untill you get rid of those damping cruisers. Drones are of cause solution as many other, including MJD... |

There aren't any of those in Worlds Collide I think.. But yeah.. Blockade is only non-painful in a Marauder |

Actually they do.
I had a single NPC Amarr Frigate in a group of NPC ships Warp Scram me while I was trying to access an Acceleration Gate in a Minmatar Level 4 Epic Arc mission. I was trying to see if mission could be blitzed as well as bypass incurring any derived negative standing hits for ship kill.
Anyway, I saw the gate effects happen but my ship didn't warp. I then got a pop up message stating my ship couldn't do that due to the EWAR. After I destroyed that single NPC Frigate, the Acceleration Gate worked.
Of course destroying that single NPC Frigate incurred derived negative standing hit for ship kill.
Next time I'll just lead the NPC's away from the gate and then double back / MJD and access the gate. That will enable a semi-blitz for that mission as well as bypass derived negative standing hits for ship kill.

That's just the normal gate-lock effect. The rats don't scramble. You could have activated a MWD, or even a MJD both without trouble. Acceleration gates are a special case.
If you get this message, the game wants you to kill all rats, so it prevents you from using the accel gate to just circumvent part of the mission. If you then choose to jump 100km away from that rat and snipe it to death with cruise missiles, the game just doesn't care.

Did you try and warp to a BM or something on the overview ? I have seen something similar before when i try and warp to a bm, but once I select a station on the overview I could warp to it. Don't remember the mission though. . |

If you then choose to jump 100km away from that rat and snipe it to death with cruise missiles, the game just doesn't care. I agree in most missions or exploration sites the gates are locked until all NPC's are destroyed or the player has a special key in their cargo hold to access the gate.
However, in this case No, the gates weren't locked. The warp effect from activating the gate was clearly seen. My ship didn't go into warp due to Warp Scramming being done by one Elite Frigate in a group of a dozen NPC's. As soon as I destroyed just that one NPC, the EWAR effect was removed and my ship was able to warp via the Acceleration Gate.
As I already said, next time I'll just lead the NPC's away from the gate and then quickly double back and access the gate, thus allowing me to blitz the mission and bypass the NPC EWAR along with the derived negative standing hit incurred for ship kill.
