So after playing for a year, I finally got a T3 Proteus, and was able to get it fully fitted and functioning. However, upon trying to pull a subsystem out from the fitting, I was told no, with the reason "It would decompress the entire ship and kill your crew."
I'd like to say first of all that's a load of poo. In an age where capsuleers are able to fly with only their mind and a lot of goo, we shouldn't even need a crew on board, and even if we did, why can't we find a cork or something to keep the decompression from happening? It's not like you can't just use a welding torch to makeshift some sort of temporary plug for a missing subsystem.
And while we're on the topic of subsystems, how come I can't put two of the same category of subsystem onto the same ship? They're modular right? I mean look at Samus Aran's beam, which may I remind you is modular as well, but has all her beam power ups on at the same time. Why can't we have every single module in a category on that one slot and just ride into low-sec with all the intentions of becoming a super Talos or something?
Finally, I had a half fitted proteus, and I undocked it, and suddenly no one wanted to shoot me. Generally every time I'm in Nennamalia, and I stray two systems out, there's always someone willing to blow up whatever I'm flying at the time. But the fear of a T3 has made low sec people forget how terrible of a pilot I am, and therefore they don't want to risk blowing up. I claim cowardice, I tell you. That or no one flies anything but frigates now.
So in conclusion, we need three things:
1) T3 ships shouldn't need all of the subsystems, otherwise it's just a flaw in T3 ships altogether.
2) T3 ships should be death cannons with all five slots stuffed full of offensive subsystems for the full effect.
3) People should shoot T3s more often. |

Simply refit the T3 with the cheapest subsystems then repackage it, or sell it all on the market.
Also certain subsystems give certain things, so if you have 5 offensive subsystems, you will get 0 powergrid, 0 velocity, 0 ect... So there would be no point. (I think this is how it is, as far as i understand it) |

1) This doesn't make sense. The idea of a T3 is that the subsystems are integral part of the ship. Without a defensive subsystem, your shield as 0 armor, shields, etc. Without a propulsion subsystem, your ship can't move. Without an offensive subsystem, your ship has gaping holes in the hull where a turret/launcher/etc. should be.
2) No they shouldn't. The idea that you could add five accelerated ejection bays and have 25 weapons slots on one ship is insane.
3) Bring your proteus out to null, we can have a T3 1 on 1. I guarantee you will be attacked if you leave high/low sec in a T3.
Invest in a mobile depot, a travel and a PvP subsystem fit, go deep into null, refit in the field, blow up, and enjoy the train back to level five. |

I shall probably take you up on that depending if my friend gives me back my collateral. |

As for the rest of your post...well...no comment. Because my mom used to say, "if you can't say something good, then don't say anything".

I'll say it. OP is a douche. "PvE in EVE is a trap to turn you into PvP content, don't confuse it for actual gameplay." Lipbite |

What he meant was "OP obviously hasn't understood what the subsystems actually are on a T3 so is missing out on what everyone else sees as obvious, OP should do some more research before posting again" |

dafuq? That's like asking your car manufacturer to add 2 additional sets of engines to your car and leave out the wheels and seats instead.

In that case since you need at least something to move, at least put a prop subsystem on there, and then you're pretty much good to go. An alternative would be to launch your proteus from like, a titan forcing you out of it, and since space has almost no resistance to forward inertia, you'd be able to move forward pretty fast for a while |

No, you would end up with an immobile, un-tanked hull that could not fit anything for lack of Powergrid and CPU. Having a lot of empty highslots does not make it a death cannon. It makes it dead.
Also, as this is (sort of) a proposal for a change in game mechanics but at the same time an invitation to shoot you, I can not move it to F&ID. Instead I will give it a lock to avoid the trollfest it surely would become if left open.
