I have been looking around at all the 3rd party tools out there for our game, there's like a bazillion of them to help you with whatever you need.
One tool I haven't seen (yet) is a tool to tell you the price and availability of offices within any given system ingame.
Is there one out there that I just haven't stumbled upon yet?
Would it be possible to make one?
I would imagine it's not any more difficult than making a market tool ... but then again I have no idea what I'm talking about LOL
I'd make it myself, just need someone to show me how. |

The thing is, office rent prices vary by time, not just by location. If there are a lot of unused offices, the rent goes down; if there aren't any empty offices, the rent goes up. I've seen stations where rent doubled within a month, and I've seen rents range from six to nine figures. I see what you are saying, but don't the market prices vary like every minute? There's tons of maket price calculating tools out there...
(but again, I have no idea what I'm talking about, I don't know the first thing about making tools.) |

I don't know of any tools for offices, but I can give you some general guidelines.
(1) Mission and trade hubs will be the most expensive. (2) Systems with a high population that are not 1 will be expensive. (3) Systems with a lot of stations that are not 1 or 2 will be reasonable. (4) Backwater systems that are not 1,2 or 3 will be cheap.
There are tools to find trade hubs, population and mission hubs. You should be able to use them to start your search.
Mr Epeen There are 86,400 seconds in a day. You just saved one of them by typing 'u' instead of 'you'.-á Congratulations, dumbass! |

Thank you Sir Epeen! I'll start out on my hunt tonight -- I think it's gonna take a while.
I should start researching how to build tools, maybe I can hack something together someday LOL |

Yes, they can, but none of those market calculating tools can do up-to-the-minute calcs. This is because they use Eve-Central and that depends on users uploading prices of stuff they're looking at (it's done automatically). This works because lots of people look at market prices often (at least for most items and most regions). That is not true of office rental fees
Unless CCP exposes an API of the office rental prices, there's no practical way that a tool can show them

A. As said above. The rent is based on open slots in a certain range. More open equals lower rent. So as soon as someone rents a slot or unrents one...prices are adapted.
B. No tool for 1 simple reason. No API pulls those prices out of the server so the only way it will work is if EVERY corp that rents offices uploads their rent amounts.
Market tools also fall under B. they rely mostly on EVE-central which itself relies on manual input from players and not automated up-to-date info from the server directly. Can I ask the OP why they want an office?
If it is to use a Market Hangar for selling items on Corporate Contracts there is a way to do this without having an office in the station, it's just one of those things that isn't well known. Only really works well if you have a private trading corp. or trust people in teh corp. absolutely. If so, just say and I'll post how to do this, just don't want to derail the thread if that is irrelevant to you. |

Logistics . I would like to have a depot where everyone can drop their PI - Manufacted products- good loot, etc., and a hauler or freighter would come by as needed and take the goods to market. I don't want to be setting up contracts all the time, just drop-off and pick up.
yes, please do post that - I need all the help I can get!
thanks! |

As I said above, this works ok if all the characters in the corp are alts or they are trusted. I use it in my trading corp which just has a few of my alts in it.
In e.g. Jita 4-4, char A creates a contract of stuff that is in their item hangar and makes it to the Corp, then character B accepts it from anywhere, BUT instead of Accept they use the Accept (Corp) option. The items on the contract then get dropped into the Market Deliveries hangar in Jita 4-4 and then any of my alts that are in the corp (who all have Corporate Contracting IV or V and all access roles) can make corp contracts to sell the stuff in Market Deliveries.
This way each of the characters can use their 40 -50 corporate contracts to sell stuff, which is handy if you have hundreds or thousands of e.g. blueprints that you want to sell. And if you need more contracts you can just take some items from Market Deliveries and drop them into personal hangar and use the 20 personal contract slots. |
