They should introduce the pirate clothes via Overseers Effects in my opinion. You can turn in the unopened OPE to Concord for straight ISK as usual, or you can take a gamble and open it. Opening it lets you keep whatever personal belongings the Overseer had stashed in that box. Small chance for pirate clothes. The higher the level the OPE, the higher chance of a good "drop" obviously, since you're giving up more ISK by not turning it in to Concord. If you "fail" a gamble on opening an OPE, it should at least give you some consolatory tobacco and booze or something. Something that makes sense as "personal effects".
Anyway....
They'll probably just add them to the NES. Bleh.
Maybe they'll be among the things added to data/relic sites next patch. Makes less sense than my OPE idea though, IMHO. |

Maybe they'll go with my idea and add them as blueprints that can then be manufactured as clothes with a token bought in the NES. Same with NPC corporation clothing. It would definitely reduce the clutter in the NES while allowing access to a wide array of clothing for the players.

Sounds as a nice idea.. an OPE could drop stuff like booze, tobacco, a 'miniature of a gallente cruiser', clothes, maybe some drugs, books or other weird odds and ends, there's tons of weird odds and ends already in the game that can be used for that.

Free clothes = bad, because clothes = money.
Money = good, thus NES.
NES = AUR = Tablet market = higher income for CCP, thus free clothes = bad.
Case in point: CCPs interest in making the char. creator more "touchy" (see fanfest) and the horribly designed NES that fits vertically held tablets. I am Sol. I cook my bacon naked. Considering how many people want more better-er clothing options (even players like me who don't even care about WiS), and the NES isn't flooded with hundreds and hundreds of items.... I'd say the whole "greed is good" line is dead. CCP has most likely moved on to a "healthy balance of profit margin vs. the player base enjoying our product is good" mentality.
Still. I want the new jackets for both of my toons. If I have to pay for Aurum, fine. If I have to find them in a Besieged Site, that's cool, too. I just want a Guristas jacket on my virtual body. Sooner than later. That moment when you realize the crazy lady with all the cats was right... |

Holy crap. This sounds really cool. But how to balance the value of the stuff...
In general, faction apparel would imo be a great addition to the NES.

This is one thing tha annoys me about the dead WiS project.
There is obviously a market for clothes and lunxury/cosmetic items.
They have a crap load of them.
They could VERY easily put stuff on the NES and use all sales from that to fund more work on WiS. I doubt a lot of people would complain if that happened. It would then when ready bring in more money for people who drool over that vaporware game beause 'omg I can walk around in my ship!' But I doubt ccp will. Its what I would do however. OMG Comet Mining idea!!! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=331766 |

Until WiS can provide actual game content, I'm not in favor of pushing ahead with it. I'd rather they work on redesigning T2 and Faction hulls. There's no reason why T2 and Pirate ships should look like re-painted T1 hulls. The SB redesigns (and the Navy frigs) have shown us what that could be with a little bit of work.
Overall, I think CCP has their crap together, decently. They obviously learned a valuable lesson from the Summer of Rage. I'm excited. That moment when you realize the crazy lady with all the cats was right... |
