I can't say that it runs perfectly, as I didn't even have time to undock, but the launcher launches the game and the CQ loads and runs.
If there are any problems, they're not blatant. I'll see if I can muster the time to do some session changes, since that seems to be one of the ultimate stress tests for the Mac client. Proud founder and member of the Belligerent Desirables. |

I got to zip around a little tonight, and I have to say, for something that isn't officially supported yet, it's pretty slick.
If you're not feeling adventurous, by all means wait for official support. Yosemite is a significant update. Proud founder and member of the Belligerent Desirables. |

Upgraded to Yosemite this morning. Launcher and game seem to work fine, but my client hangs and eternally beachballs when I try to alt-tab out of the EVE client. :( Can't even access the force-quit menu to shut it down that way. |

Probablythe one reason I run window mode.
If I remember right, control+apple+ESC force quotes. If not control than option/alt.
I will upgrade in a few and post any information it get. xoxo Amarisen Gream |

Restarted and re-tried, now it seems to work fine. I think it might have been a combination of installing updates at the same time as running EVE. |

Yeah, EVE does not like sharing its connection with anything else, especially not something that's using a lot of network traffic.

So far, since I upgraded to 10.10 the launcher still works and the client will load, allow me to select a character and then load the game environment but after a few seconds the client throws an exception and then exits.
Logged a support ticket, I was advised that 10.10 is not officially supported and there is no confirmed date they can provide for when it will be supported. |

Could we maybe get a little more info as a community. I'm sure someone reading this has had the same problem and found a work around...
Hit us up, and use us. No need to lose out on our EVE time for support on an OS that CCP has had the chance to test for four months.
And seeing as many people who are not having problems, maybe we can figure out what is different, and help you fix it.
Talk to you soon.
edit: p.s. And as busy as CCP is with patching EVE every 6 weeks, i'm sure a freebie from the community for supporting most powerful OS, would be very beneficial to them. xoxo Amarisen Gream |

I can confirm that there are hangs and crashes of Eve while playing on OS X 10.10
I've not noticed any pattern yet, but it does generate a crash dump if you allow it.

Thank you! I don't know what those mean. Not a programer, but I am grateful for everyones help, and the information we can provide to CCP to see (I hope) a timely support for 10.10.
-Some tips I might make to people.
Make sure to repair your permissions via Disk Utility in the Application > Utility Folder. See if a computer restart does anything. (I know I had some system wide lag after the update and another restart has helped.)
I can't think of anything else that might help. Anyone else have tips/tricks?

I'm continuing to have issues when alt-tabbing out of the EVE client (running in full-screen mode). Sometimes it works fine, but other times it hangs and either needs to be force-quitted or sometimes only a force restart (holding down the power button to power off the computer) will work.
I've also had the unhandled page fault error mentioned above once or twice too. |

I saw "Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000024 at address 0x7001c524." 3 times in the last 15 minutes running EVE on 10.10. For me the game is not playable at the moment.
I just came back to EVE :/ |

I must point the finger at the dev team here. You should have had been able to test Yosemite fro compatibility weeks ago.
I came to these forums before upgrading and saw no warning about Yosemite.
Having subscribers being the ones to point that there is an incompatibility with the latest version is not very pro imo... no offense but are you really expecting professionals and students to NOT install a free upgrade to their OS when it is released?
I know the cop out excuse is that Yosemite is not officially supported but i do not think this is how you should respond. At least you should have a pop up in game or on the forums warning players that if they upgrade their OS they won t be able to play the game.
Sorry for venting but I don t think this is very serious for a game that has a subscription This should have been anticipated and tested before the OS was released

I've had some marginal improvement in stability by doing the following to my Eve related applications:
- Exit out of Eve Online and the Launcher completely
- In the Applications folder where Eve Online resides, right-mouse click on the Eve Online icon and select "Get Info". On the resulting dialog box, find the check-box named "Prevent App Nap", check that box so that it's selected, and then close the dialog box.
- Go back to the Applications folder and right-mouse click on the Eve Online icon and select "Show Package Contents"
- Open the following folders in sequence: appdata -> Eve Online-XXXXX.macosx (where XXXXX is a version number like 2.1.826897) -> Eve Online
- Right-mouse click on the "Eve Online" icon in that folder and again "Get Info" and set the "Prevent App Nap" check-box like you did above
- For the third time, set the "Prevent App Nap" setting for:
Contents -> Resources -> Eve Online
This has marginally improved the reliability of my Eve Online client on OS X 10.10
To undo these changes, just go back and uncheck all three of the items that were checked in the procedure above.
Some other things that I've done include:
- Setting all graphics to a very low setting
- Clearing all cached data |

As others have mention, running in windowed mode is superior to full screen |

Don't you get stuck with both the menu bar and the title bar of the window? And what about the dock popping up? If there's a workaround / fix for those 2 points I'd be interested.
(I'm deliberating the 10.10 update on my main / eve computer. My test system is a little too slow to test eve proper these days) |
