So the in-game industry display now shows a value on the bar, but it's different to the values that the Crest endpoint returns.
For instance, Dodixie right now is "system cost index 0.57" for manufacturing, but crest says:
"costIndex": 0.051568541255966514, "activityID": 1, "activityID_str": "1", "activityName": "Manufacturing"
How can the two be reconciled? my teapot is ready |

I had the same question a couple of weeks ago. I didn't find a clear answer, to be honest.
There appears to be a constant that varies by activity-type (manufacturing, ME research, etc.) which is multiplied against the CREST cost-index to arrive at the one displayed by the in-game industry dialog. Unfortunately I didn't make notes, but examining the SCI for a few solar systems in-game and via CREST made it apparent after some head-scratching.
I couldn't find any documentation on this. It is definitely not covered in the dev-blog that showed how to compute job costs. The term I think is a constant might really be something like a global average of jobs installed per system or other more complex term. But in any case, it was the same value for any given activity-type. |

may be a cache issue.
One will update at X time.
The other will update when a user looks at it, past X time, and then be valid for an hour. Woo! CSM 9! http://fuzzwork.enterprises/ Twitter: @fuzzysteve on Twitter |

The answer is here : http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/industry-3rd-party-developers/
Quote:/industry/systems/ (cache: 1 hour) vnd.ccp.eve.IndustrySystemCollection-v1 Lists the cost index for installing industry jobs per type of activity. This does not include wormhole space.

There does seem to be some sort of multiplier indeed, and in-game values are all higher than CREST from every one I've looked at. Hoping it can be explained how it matches up so accurate calculations can be made.
Following the formulas for calculating install costs I get answers that match in-game install costs much more closely if I use the lower CREST value; the in-game ones overstate it. my teapot is ready |

That's the endpoint I'm looking at. The values from there are higher than the ones shown in game, which is the issue at hand. my teapot is ready |

No, it's not that. The variances are far too great to be caching mismatches, and the in-game values are all higher than CREST values. my teapot is ready |
