If CCP are having so much trouble updating the avatar's why not let us upload our own???
Alot (correct all) of my other forum sits both game and non-game related allow user uploads of avatars so why not here - it would atleast eliminate the nag factor and reduce the workload on CCP.

My main char has another avatar since april 2006, when i paid 10€ for changing my avatar. Today, i've the old avatar yet.
My alt char was created in march, 2006, i changed her avatar in april 2006 too, today i still have a "!" in the forums.
I continue waiting patiently...

Obviously, CCP has setup the forums to their preferences. It's their servers, its their website, its their choice. They gave you a space to put up whatever random picture you want to use to identify yourself. Its called a signature. These forums are lacking in many other areas compared to other forums. Probably, because they want most of the interaction to take place in-game. Hence: No forum messaging. Ect.
If the best thing that you people can find to complain about is 'getting a wittle cutsie pictwure' above your name in the official website forums, then that just proves how much of an incredible job CCP is doing with this MMO.
The problem has been recognized.
I'm sure solutions have been discussed.
It has been prioritized.

If they do work on a system for rendering forum avatars, then they should throw in a little script that prioritizes characters due to posting habits on the forums. No need to render the thousands of alts if they don't even post on the forums. It would make the people who are complaining happier faster than just going down the list of characters created and rendering them slowly.
Just a thought.

Thi doesnt seem to be merely time dependent, ive seen a couple of people on the forums with avatars who joined after me and im still missing, so maybe forum use is taken into account.

This is really distracting on a personal level CCP.
The distraction breaks the 'suspension of disbelief'.
I can appreciate the nightmare from a technical stand point and rational for batching these jobs but why is it taking so long?
Yupe, the issue is purely individual experience related and not a technical bug; but its a chunk missing from the eve universe for us faceless pilots.
please run your scripts to update us all

4+ months old, and still no picture of 'me'.
Can we get an update, please? I mean, there's been a TON of hardware added, was nothing done about this issue?
And if it's not a priority, just tell us, please. Being placated with 'be patient' when some folks have had this issue for 6 months, or over a year isn't giving the customer base warm, fuzzy feelings that anything is actually being done.
Sorry if I missed a more recent official response, but I'm not going to go thru 5 pages, when recent posts indicate there's still a problem.

Guess I had better join the exclamation marks anonymous. Made this char when the new blodlines patch was released and my patience is running slightly thin at the moment.

well, i've been playing for almost 4 months now and i still don't have my portrait on the boards/my character pages. apparently there's people who play for over half a year without portrait which makes me kinda worried. i mean, this is a payed service so we are entitled to demand our portraits now.

This account is using the wrong image. I have tried on several occasions to use my mains image but can't seem to switch it. I have been playing over a year, I think I have waited long enough.
