As I said in the direct feedback post, I generally like the idea behind the upcoming changes to warp drives and would like to see incentives for local industry in nullsec. As I pointed out there, there are still some issues. The most critical imo is that only one flavour of ice is available in every region. Industrial setups greatly favour Caldari Towers because of their high CPU output. Minmatar and Gallente POSes (to a less degree because of Silo bonus) will struggle, but Amarr POSes are completely unsuitable for industry purposes.
If we think of local industry without the constant need of imports from Highsec, this means you can only supply local ice. Which means you can only use one type of POSes. Take T2 production: this industry will nearly impossible in the whole Amarr nullsec.
Without starting a lengthy discussion about POS setups, it comes down to this: A Medium Amarr POS cannot operate a Simple Reactor plus the 3 required Silos
Now, we don't know how things turn out mid-term regarding sov, ressource distribution, JFs and travel, but I meanwhile propose the simplest band-aid solution to mitigate the problem:
Change POS CPU output.
Amarr Contol Tower - 6000 (+500) Amarr Control Tower Medium - 3000 (+250) Amarr Control Tower Small - 1500 (+125)
Minmatar Control Tower - 6500 (+500) Minmatar Control Tower Medium - 3250 (+250) Minmatar Control Tower Small - 1625 (+125)
Gallente Control Tower - 7000 (+250) Gallente Control Tower Medium - 3500 (+125) Gallente Control Tower Small - 1750 (+62)
Caldari Contol Tower - 7500 (+0) Caldari Control Tower Medium - 3750 (+0) Caldari Contol Tower Small - 1875 (+0)
There is certainly a lot of different ways to tackle this, but this seems to be the simplest. Caldari stays the same, so basically this buff should not break anything. |

Its a good point but doesn't really go far enough imo.
Giving racial POSes different CPU/Grid while expecting them to use the same structures is flat out bad design, they can be plenty differentiated by Bonuses/Resists/Weapons/Meta Level.

POS structures were and still are balanced around mounting defenses, and are balanced based around the sort of defenses they are designed to use, in a similar manner to the ships. Also, -1 to making it that much cheaper to run reaction towers.

Snarky, but not really helpful towards making null industry better. Making Eve bigger is a great thing, but keeping nullsec, or parts of it, dependent on imports is not really good for the game as a whole.
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

looks like this just makes some space more valuable than others if you need to import things like fuel after the patch it will either cost more ore you may need to learn how to use WHs |

What really is the point of a manufacturing tower in regards to multiple factory types now? I mean the towers seem to just be twice the previous level and to me it would be better to split things across multiple towers save supercaps What am I missing here? Limited tower space? |

The proposal is not about manufacturing in general, but specifically about reactions (T2 production). Moon minerals can only be processed at a POS, not at a station. You need a Large Amarr tower for the most basic reactions, whereas you can use a Medium Caldari, Gallente, and Minmatar tower for the same task. |

I was about to write the same thing here... To be fair, a Minmatar medium can't fit any ewar on if you squeeze a simple + silos (or harvesters; they have the same fittings) on, but you can at least try. If you live in Amarr space, you either have to spend twice as much fuel on a simple reaction or import the fuel. (Amusingly, because Archons are so popular, you probably ought to import fuel anyway: all the other fuels are cheaper!)
There's another break point where a Caldari large can fit simple + complex + 5 silos easily, while it's somewhat more awkward for Gallente or Minmatar and the only reason I'm not doing that, for example, is that the Caldari POS guns are the only ones that use CPU. |
