It is an idea, no more, no less. Such things are valuable to think and muse over. At no point have other things been shunted off to the side to create this.
I personally don't care for the of skill packs. I much prefer someone playing with the potential of complete loss but playing the game as they would normally play.

Are you really that obtuse? If you add PVP accomplishments to a permadeath character, then Eve players will use their permadeath characters to kill trial account alts (or any other throwaway characters) as many times as necessary to upgrade the permadeath character. One of the first lessons you should learn in Eve is that if it gives you an advantage, most people will do it.
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

This idea is just horrible to me, seems either horrible open to abuse without restrictions that would make it pointless.
Also If you give any means whatsoever to have a char with unallocated SP you will have endless calls to add this to the main chars in some way or another. Set such a nasty precedent and the gme would suffer in ym opinion. |

I'd pay a plex to activate a "rat" character. i.e. essentially flashy red but can engage players without concord or NPCs attacking.
Someone that can hunt players with impunity but cannot be remote repped, boosted or dock.
I'm sure it's abusable but dont care, it would be hilarious. Plus at a plex a pop, it's not that abusable. |

This would give the ability to force those with the funds to do so the ability to force those who do not wish to enter PvP to do so with no consequences (since in paying a plex for this character the player demonstrates that the cost of a plex means nothing to them). Nobody should be safe from PvP but likewise forcing them into PvP should always have some consequence. |

Well people could be easily given incentive to engage them by slapping a bounty of 25% of plex price on them :)
Being realistic, it's not significantly different from a ganking alt at -10, no-one who undocks gets to hide from PvP, if anything this just makes it more open and honest.
Ship types could be controlled/limited etc etc. Plenty of ways to make it work |

Non-PVP types would never engage them in any circumstanced as they would never be fit for PvP and also typically hate PvP hence avoiding it. this gives the means for space rich players to force those people into PvP with impunity and no consequences. This also still goes completely against the disposable gank alt ban. |

And what are the consequences for my -10 gank alt, exactly? Key word here being "alt"? |

It isn't 'hot-swap' for a start so those who want to avoid you can add you to a watch list and put terrible standings on you. At least they get some warning whereas the disposable alt will be much more of a danger. And if space is full of flashing criminals how many of the hisec folks do you think will still fly? Killing hisec may be a goal for some but it would be disastrous for the game. People being killed in hisec by concerted gank efforts is one thing but giving people such instant gratification tools for nothing (as I said if someone is happy to pay a plex for this then the cost of a plex is nothing to them) is a bad idea as far as I'm concerned. |

Come back in 8 years. To be fair I've been playing this game for 2.5 years. Not long in eve time but I've played in high sec, low sec, wormhole and faction warfare. Give me a little credit :p

One of the first lessons you should learn in Eve is that if it gives you an advantage, most people will do it. Are you that obtuse? Thats why i added in pve and mining accomplishments. So you can kill your alt all you want. That's fine and dandy. But the second you get podded you lose your character. So you spend all this time killing your alt, mining while suspect, killing rats in low sec just to get to 30 million skillpoints and someone comes along and kills you, erasing your character. You can "meta" the situation all you want. But eventually you are going to run into a fight. There is no guarantee no matter how much you try to game it. That difficulty will certainly attract players in eve and even players who've never played eve. And there can be a hard limit as well, say 40 million skillpoints. |
