I've been away a good bit of time - about 2 years or so.
Now that I've returned to the addiction I've suddenly found that I cannot figure out where the planetary interaction interface is! It used to be associated with the science/industry panel, but now... nope.
So I've spent an hour clicking around my interface but I simply cannot locate my planets. And I can't install new structures because 2 year old ones are still out there, somewhere. |

There is a separate icon for it now. It's under Buisness in the E-menu.

Found it, thanks.
Now, another issue -
I went to an old dusty planet where I had PI and tried to upload the items from the storage bin and *WHOAH*, 10 mil for 10k of cargo?
I look at the Customs info - it says 10% tax rate. 10% of what? What is the tax on - the 10 mil (going where?) - or am I paying 10% of a 100 mil transfer fee?
I don't recall that it was that insane when CONCORD ran the customs offices. And these monsters are a PITA to remove without a hefty fleet, so mega-alliances can lock down swaths of lowsec uncontested (which, from all I've seen, [TW4TS] has done, as an alt corp for Shadow Cartel). |

The tax on POCOs is split into two parts. There is a base 10% that goes to Interbus. Then there can be a second tax that is set by the owner of the POCO. There is a Customs Tax skillbook you can buy & learn that knocks the base Interbus tax down to 5% at level five in the skill.
The second tax, that can be set by the owner of the POCO, can be set at any level. It is not uncommon to find this set at 75% to keep others away from the planet. But if you look around you should be able to find planets with total tax of seven or eight percent if you have the customs tax skill trained up to level five. Or you can try to negotiate with the POCO owner and if they are friendly you might broker a deal. The null sec cartels are a problem with high sec POCO's but there is not a lot we can do about them really.
The amount of ISK charged on the basic rate was reworked by CCP a while back so taxes are no doubt more now than when you played EVE last.

So... the 10% and 75% or whatever is based on.... what?
Who sets the transfer fee? Interbus, or the POCO owner? Because a million per 1k is pretty steep. I recall, before I left, that I could transfer an entire hauler full for just over that.
Kinda renders PI pointless. |

Quote:Taxation
Tax % is taken off the material's taxable value.
This value is set by CCP and is based off the market values in November 2011 Import is always half of export tax
The taxable value are the same for all items in the same tier
Advanced Commodities: 1,200,000.00 ISK Specialized Commodities: 60,000.00 ISK Refined Commodities: 7,200.00 ISK Basic commodities: 400.00 ISK Planet Resources: 5,00 ISK Custom tax rates can be set based on corp standings, as well as for alliance members or corp members. NPC Tax
All Interbus Customs Offices, and Player Owned Customs Offices in High-sec, are subject to an NPC tax.
This tax is 10% for export and 5% for import. This is then in addition to whatever tax the player owner sets if the Customs Office is in High-sec.
The Customs Code Expertise skill can be trained to reduce this tax.
As the article states, the 10% tax to Interbus only applies to Hi-Sec. |

All highsec POCOs (player-owned customs offices) have a base 10% tax that goes to concord/interbus (forget which) and then the player corp set tax on top of that. The Customs Code expertise skill reduces that base 10% NPC tax that all highsec POCOs have |
