Buying direct from CCP with Credit cards, etc, grants you 30 days gametime for 14.95. PLEX is the game time code version that costs 20 dollars. How can I buy 15 dollars worth of gametime without paying CCP directly? |

Herateis:
If you don't want to buy game time directly from CCP, you may choose to buy from one of the EVE Time Code 3rd party retailers. A list of them can be located here.
Hope this helps!

Okay thank you. The only one I can find on that list which sells game time cards of 14.95 is Amazon. All others sell PLEX for 18 to 20 dollars. |

Because PLEx can be used for other things, too, such as paying for character transfers, re-sculpts and (I think) even fanfest tickets.

Hopefully you do realize that simply paying a subscription is much cheaper than buying PLEX for cash.
[EDIT: Missed that you are talking dollars. The cheapest way to pay is to sub for more than one month at a time, AFAIK.]

Game time options:
* Add game time to your account * Get extra discounts for longer subscription time.
PLEX:
* Add game time * Sell for in game currency (ISK) * Get a resculpt on character. * Transfer character to another account * Use NES shop * (at least last year) Buy HD stream of FanFest. * Sure I'm forgetting more options.
Basically, a PLEX is more then just game time...adding game time througn a PLEX is one of multiple options you have with it.

* PLEX-tanking frigates so you do better * Play the market because you have the delusion that PLEX should act like gold instead of an actual item |

How is that a delusion? The only way PLEX prices will go down again is CCP crashing the market. |

Almost every mmo has a grindy aspect to it whereby players do some repetitive in game activity to generate in game cash (isk). Plex is a way for people who wish to avoid the grind to acquire isk in game. A person buys the plex from some commercial source and then resells it in game for isk. Now the person who buys the plex in game can then use it to obtain "free" game time. Ofc nothing is really "free" as the person who buys the plex has to obtain the isk from some source - sweat equity - in other words he is doing the grinding for both himself and the initial player. So the reason why plex costs more then a subscription is because of its ability to obtain in game benefits for its purchasers. Plex as a general rule is not for newbees as it tends to encourage newbees to buy inappropriate ships and fittings which then just become expensive loss mails thus discouraging the newbee from playing. Also plex is somewhat controversial as some folk consider it pay to win.
I don't play, I just fourm warrior.
