CCP keeps fixing things, yet continues to avoid mining which is the most broken mechanic in the game.
Ever tried to mine on Monday morning? The asteroids are so tiny as to be a complete waste of time. I have seen enumerable solutions to fix mining over the years, yet CCP continues to turn a blind eye to it. Some are bad, some are good, but almost all are better than the current design.
You would think since many of the new players end up mining, you would aim to keep them around with a good experience. The current design can never be construed as such. CCP adds ships, they change processing and production, yet the mind numbingly boring design of mining continues and people wonder why some use bots. |

CCP said at Eve Vegas there are no changes planned for mining at this time.
I guess they have higher priorities in the game with Null SOV, POS's, and the stargate changes.

The most broken mechanic in EVE Online is corporation & alliance roles & permissions coupled with the inability to provide safe & secure use of POS infrastructure by multiple corporation members. I get the feeling CCP will fix this in the not too distant future. We can but hope.
Mining definitely isn't broken and going by some careers CCP have 'fixed' such as exploration and mission salvaging to name just two I don't think anyone seriously wants CCP to 'fix' mining. Anyway I'm sure there are a high percentage of accounts mainly used for mining so CCP wouldn't want to smash their golden egg.
If you don't like mining there are no doubt many more interesting and probably far more profitable career options to choose from in New Eden. I suggest you maybe try something else out within the game. Sunday is peak time, and even though the online figures are thirty percent down, it is to be expected that on Monday morning there may be significant depletion in some but not all asteroid belts.
New players seem to try mining first because it is easy to get into and with the changes to mining vessels they can move up from the Venture fairly quickly. Doing missions would probably make them more ISK but they would have to increase their standings and the potential skillset and ISK outlay is significantly higher. If you listen to new players on the rookie channel and the EVE Uni channel they seem very engaged when discussing mining and sound if they are enjoying it. But if they start reading comments like your OP it may put them off playing EVE at all.

The gist is a high turret number, low yield per turret ship which improves mining efficiency by the shorter cycle of mining lasers having less time waste, and the larger number of lasers being able to hit lots of these tinies at once. |

I recently posted a upgraded gameplay model for mining. It does not address risk reward but its something.

It wasn't instantly hated which is as close to a warm reception a mining thread ever seems to get XD. |

There's nothing broken about mining except for the rorqual being particularly lackluster. Move to a quieter system, or god forbid you want to double your income, move to nullsec and mine there. Not only will you find unlimited asteroids that respawn in grav belts, but people willing to buy your ore on site for reasonable prices, or facilities to build with it, for cheaper than highsec fees. |

Not sure how different 0.0 markets are, but at dodixie prices, Rich Plagiocase is the best thing to mine (without refining) |

then leave high sec and either go Low or Null sec. That's where the whole risk vs reward comes into play, it's almost like it seems to be a recurring main theme in this game or something...
I mean really what's the point of this thread? "waaah the stones are too small 5 jumps away from Jita". There are tons of High Sec systems with plenty of ripe asteroids. |

Yeah..... At Current Prices There is only 1 Null Sec ore even worth mining: Gneiss.
Arc is actually one of the LEAST valuable atm. Worth more than only Spod and Omber. Although it might be a good time to stock-pile and wait for a market correction.
I feel THAT is one of the biggest issues with minning atm. There IS no risk vs reward, as the most reward comes from mining Plag and Kernite in High-Sec where you are close to the demand centers(as most industry is done in high-sec) and you have almost 0 logistical over-head.
Personally I'd love to go on a few mining expeditions to 0.0 or WH space...... But there is honestly no point.

I agree CPP has killed mining I played with three good friends 2 are now gone because they have removed too much Mining is only ok if you have several acount and orca solo mine is gone after this and you earn the head is not enough isk by mine with so many suicide ganker you mine in a mack or hulk to 300 mil isk 1 kil on you and you're done because you mine 20 mil isk per hour try figuring it out vs someone doing missions or ratter so mining is dead let to use your time in the sitting looking into a screen to avoid being killed there is too little isk for solo mines to serve so it can run around, I'm considering also stop eve I feel after they have modified the mine friends are away and be forced to play in the fleet with others then there is nothing left for me in the eve and the CCP can clearly see the losing player so why ruin it for the player who has played as many years as I have ??? ?
Now it is seen in many games when you lose focus on its player forgets to listen to them then it goes the other way my offhand is to you what will? 1 continue with old player who mines persists or two it disappears just as my friends did after last patch ??? to feel even the desire to stop if not start listening to us play as the survival of ...
do not ignor the facts. |

they avoid it, because it simply isn't broken. |
