Crystals for amarr guns cannot be repaired or repackaged - as a result, once used once, they can't be sold on the market. The proposed change would be for crystals to be repairable like ship modules.
As a result, they could then be re-packaged for sale on the market.
Repair costs would need to be balanced according to ammo prices; for example, say a crystal is worth ~1mil, but is 50% damaged. It would need to cost roughly 500k for it to be repaired for sale on the market. |

This has been done to death for like 11 years. . just scrap them if you don't need them anymore. |

I agree completely that they need looking at but I don't know about repairing them. I don't mind that they can't get resold but I just wish I could tell what state they are in without having to load the ****ing things.

No, you cannot have an infinite supplfy of faction crystals. You need to farm/buy more when the old ones break.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.

Its ammo.........
Allowing them to be repaired allows for someone to never have to buy another cystal ever again. Hmph i would like to see some magically delicous reparing Hybrid rounds or assault missiles as well.(sarcastic comment) |

What's the difference if it costs you the same to repair them as buying new ones? At no point did I suggest it should be a source of free, infinite ammo. That would certainly be ridiculous. |

The difference is basically never having to get them again....especially a mission runner. Your idea is basically economy breaking from the viewpoint that some player(s) farm for the faction ones and an Indy guy like myelf makes them.
Not requiring having to go to market for them basically ever again is the problem of you idea. Try to wrap your head around all the implications of that....theres at least dozen more likely where your idea would hurt the economy of players. |

The only way for this to work without breaking the economy would be to allow you to merge multiple crystals into 1, so you do not gain any shots, but it simply cleans up your hangar.

Yeah I see your point. How about making them so that they can be reprocessed? Then you can still at least clean them up and get something out of them, but it removes them in the process so that it doesn't break the economy.
Maybe the original suggestion isn't the answer but yer, something needs to be changed.
Another alternative - make them the same as other ammo types in the sense that instead of having one crystal that gets loaded, they are broken into rounds (one shot each).
Amarr weapons would then be able to load up to say a few thousand rounds instead of 50-100 like other ammo types. So the function of crystals doesn't really change, but rounds could be sold the same way as other ammo types. |

This is by far the biggest -1 I can give today. We are trying to improve QOL, not make it more miserable. Each faction crystal would have to be 1/4000 of an m3, which would be stupid.

i agree with this.
Either that or being able to merger used crystals into less broken ones. That way you would still need to buy new ones, it would just take less space in your cargo(viewable not m3).
Pretty much anything that ends up with me not having like 100 separate stacks of burnt crystals in my cargo. (excluding randomly scrapping crystals that might be 99% good)
