Hello
It's been a long time since I've done incursions, and I'm looking to try them out again. I remember from the past that what pushed me away was the hassle of trying to get into a public fleet. This time around, I want to bring lots of options so as to maximize my potential to get into a fleet quickly.
I'm logi V with all cruisers to V, so I plan to tote around with me each of the T2 logi boats. In addition, I had planned on bringing both a Shield and Armor DPS ship, and that's where I'm coming to you folks. 100% of my Incursion experience has been logi.
GÇó I planned on bringing a Nightmare for shield fleets and Vindicator for Armor fleets. Would you recommend a different course of action? If so, what different course would that be, and why?
GÇó I do not have any T2 large weapon systems, so would Meta 4 with Faction Ammo suffice while I do the long train for these T2 systems, or will I be restricted to logi until T2 large weapons are obtained?
GÇó I have a command ship alt that can be used for boosting - would advertising that get me into a fleet quicker, or are boosters common enough that it wouldn't be that big of a benefit? |

Incursions Start Here
Goldie has a post with lots of incursion information.
Otherwise the question seems more dependent on what group of incursion runners you will be flying with. I know some groups have some fits with lower skill points. But whether you will be taken over someone running a better fit I don't know.
Best suggestion would be to ask in the chat channels of the group you plan to fly with.

You can fly the same Nightmare or Vindicator in both armor and shield if you use a fitting with the T2 rate of fire rig(laser/hybrid burst accelerator) and a armor anti explosive rig or shield anti EM rig. Re rigging the hull only costs like 10M and the rest are just 2-3 mods to change(at least in modern armor fleets). Here is a example for the Vindicator:

T2 resist mods are also ok for most FCs, but they cost a low slot(dps) in form of a extra DCU(in Vanguards).
Most channels will take hulls with meta 4 guns, I think only ISN, ICU and some TDF fleets are the exception here. I don't think that a command ship alt will get you into fleets quicker but it could make the FC able to start a fleet when he has no booster what can give you the opportunity to fly. |

Hi
I would say advertising your booster toon with dps would get you into fleets quicker, I have been looking at doing the same thing.
Hope all goes well for you |

Hope all goes well for you As an FC for more than a year, I have only once had to use a booster that wasn't my alt or the alt of another FC. It is also a problem with the ability of a fleet member to turn off boosts, to have a bad connection, etc. Generally offering is nice, but unless you have established yourself in the community, it won't be used.

The Vindicator & Nightmare are popular ships with the Incursion community. But meta 4/T1 guns are generally not accepted and you are unlikely to get in with any of the Incursion communities. They are for the most part extremely anally retentive with extremely specific fitting requirements and literally nothing else is acceptable with them.
If you do have the exact fitting they require you will likely wait several hours to get a place in a fleet. I do quite often see Incursion ISBoxer fleets travelling by with XX amounts of Nightmares etc which might be another option.
For the above reasons I haven't yet got into doing Incursions but I wish you good luck with them. |

For the above reasons I haven't yet got into doing Incursions but I wish you good luck with them. The only communities which have a rule against m4 weapons are ISN, VGV, and ICU. These communities position themselves in the shiny niche. Other communities will go awww about you using m4 guns, and will ask you to train them ASAP, but you stronly misrepresent the majority of communities.
As for substandard fits, the minimums are fairly easy to find. My
