I've been having problems when playing EVE where my computer will unexpectedly restart. It happens after 45 minutes to an hour of play and just started up recently (within the last two weeks). Prior to this I had no difficulty at all.
My system specs are:
AMD Athlon XP 3200+ MSI GForce FX 5950SE 1 gig Corsair memory MSI KT6V-LSR Mainboard Creative Audigy ZS 2
I can't figure it out because it isn't a temperature issue. My temperature remains below 50 degrees C the whole time that I'm playing.
My drivers are as up to date as I am able to get them but to no avail. Needless to say this does not happen when I'm using my computer for anything else.

Have had freezing issues, same processor and same memory.
Just lowered the frontside bus to 133 mhz instead of 200 in the BIOS and now it runs stable and there's no performance drop at all. And it saves power too :)
Although my thing might have been temperature related, you might want to try it out.
What kind of cooling stuff do you use by the way? Can't seem to get my processor lower then 60c even though I got two casefans and a Nexus cooler...

I had this problem for the longest time, and many other people were having it as well. Got a lot of advice as to what it might be, but of course I could never nail down the problem exactly. As with you, it wasn't any sort of overheating problem, outdated drivers, or sound, which is also a popular suggestion. I think that the thing that finally fixed it for me was playing in full screen mode instead of windowed mode. After I changed that I haven't had a single spontaneous reboot since. Not sure what exactly the root cause was after all that, but that fixed it for me. ---------------

I have to admit I have had this problem before but thought my machine was just acting up. I do get it quite rarely though.
I haven't had the problem for a while now.
Quick thought. Does it create any event logs that you notice.
