Just a thought, how would you all feel about a special probe launcher and probes w/ similar stats to current probes that did not show up on d-scan?
The catch would be that they only last for 30 seconds to 2.5 minutes w/ combat and non combat flavours. I imagine that they would be manufactured from bpcs found in exploration sites.
Any constructive thoughts? |

Wud it break w-space if combat version only lasted 30 seconds? What if the launcher prevented u from cloaking for 60 seconds so u had to be uncloaked to use them and uncloaked while u warped if you found something? |

There is no local in w-space, so d-scan is your primary line of defense and intel since you don't typically have a bunch of alts or bots sitting on gates in a cloud around your system. Invisible probes could be dropped at a deadspot out of the 14.3AU D-scan range, then you're being located with no way to know it and soon your dropped on and butt ******. Invisible probes would make content more scarce, you wouldn't be likely to leave cloak without a significant number of your buddies blobbing along with you in Nullsec V2 |

Skilled probers use the D-Scan to find their target. With the solar system map, tactical overlay and the hud even i manage to get their position in a solar system with a deviation of maybe 0.5 AU. Edit: And i consider myself 'average' for low/ nullsec, so to say 'rookie' in wh-probing.
So i am cloaked, get their position, got my probe pattern ready, move to a off-d-scan position, drop probes, drop them on their location, probe them, recall, bookmark or rinse&repeat, wait for cloak going on again and warp in.
What they would have seen is... *nothing*. only you, decloaking as you land on grid 2 km off and yellowboxing. |

no
because imba.
I mean, I would love such probes, however I would quickly run out of targets as noone will be undocking anymore in 0.0 or leave POS FF. |

The local system chat is not bad at all. It is what you made of it that has some bitter taste to it.
If you would take out the local chat, what would become of all the market bots and isk doublers in Jita or Amarr..
That's right, they could no longer double your isk for little risk.

Unironically, someone in 99% said exactly the same thing yesterday.
Broken in w-space. So no.
